It's a Hard Job

The two baseball teams with the best records played each other yesterday.

JR was out of town with his friends, so that left me to do the commentating (I even announced "JR is out of town so that leaves me, the second best public speaker in the Ingersoll Family"). Jason was trying to run the scoreboard (while also keeping the book).

We found that it actually took 4 of us to do JR's normal job.

In the 5th inning the score was tied and the other team was up to bat.  They had 1 out and the bases loaded.  One of the big hitting 5th graders from our school was up and we were thinking it was about to be lights out for our little team.

Sure enough he hit a hard line drive, but thankfully he hit it toward 3rd base. Reed jumped up and caught it and ran back to 3rd beating the kid that had started running toward home.

That double play by Reed ended the inning and kept them from scoring.  Our little team lost their minds and I might have been hanging out the press box window screaming something about Reed belonging to me at the top of my lungs.

So it was a tie game (which we will take) and we are all so proud that Reed belongs to us.
