45, 47, and 86

Today is my daddy's 86th birthday and since we couldn't celebrate in Dollywood, we went to the next best place...Trump Burger!

It's pretty easy to find. (It's about an hour from Houston)

We all had a Trump Burger

We did not get the Biden Burger which is $50 and comes with an old tomato and the oldest buns available.

We had fun admiring all the decorations

Celebrating 86 with 45/47 was a super fun way to spend the day!

An Everybody Update

I need to catch up on what's been going on.

Kyle caught this fish on a homemade lure.

And proclaimed himself "nosegay certified" from his flower design class.

Reed ran in a track meet where he claimed he had the "worst race of his life" in the 2 mile (he still placed 3rd) then turned around and had "one of his favorite races of all time" in the 1-mile (which he won).

JR's friend sent me this, which I told her looked like a scene from Legally Blonde.

Jason and I went to Galveston for a few days, where I only took this picture of the guy kite surfing (or whatever it's called).

And Chloe is so tired from her trip to Galveston she's still recovering.

Azalea Pictures

When I was growing up I always had to have my picture made with my dad's azaleas.  Our azaleas are so gorgeous this year I literally thought, "oh, I need a picture of the azaleas".

I knew there was no way I would be able to get the boys to take a picture with the azaleas...
so good thing I have a little girl!

Spring Break #2

While we were skiing JR was on his spring break too.  He headed down to work in Gulf Shores, where he worked 90 hours in a week. He always seems to wind up on their social media, so it's usually pretty easy to keep up with him.

His accent in this one kills me, the way he says "go" is definitely more southern Alabama than Texan.

And in this one you can hear him talking at the beginning and then you'll see him throwing Mardi Gras beads from the sound booth.

Spring Break #1

We had a great spring break.  The weather was absolutely perfect (until Friday when it started snowing).  I skied 2 days and Jason skied 3.  I'm not sure I can go back to winter skiing after it was so perfect this trip!

Fast Friday

Reed missed last Friday's track meet because he was in Dallas, but while we were at home getting packed up for spring break, he was running fast.

His goal for the track season was to run the 2-mile under 10 minutes, and he did just that, running a 9:57.  That puts him in the 9th fastest time from his school since 2003, and the 5th fastest time since 2018.

In the 1 mile he ran a 4:35, which he was also happy about, and he got 3rd place.

On the Road with Chloe

Chloe got a new do for spring break.  Doesn't she look gorgeous?

She did a great job on the way to Colorado.  Especially since the road was closed in New Mexico and we thought we were going to have to backtrack 2 hours.

Thankfully Jason knows how to read a map, so it only cost us about 30 minutes.

Dallas Weekend

While Jason and I were in Oxford, Reed was in Dallas competing at state with his financial analyst team.

They went and visited SMU during their free time.

He said it was "nice" but he's not going to apply there. (My wallet was happy to hear that.)

His group was the only ones that made it to finals from his school.

They got 9th at state (we still think they were robbed) so they won't be going on to Nationals this year, which is a big bummer.

Not Our Parents Weekend

While we were in Oxford JR's band had a "gig" playing for another fraternity's parents weekend.  Jason and I went to see them play and just tried our best to blend in.

I'm guessing the only thing that gave us away was me taking pictures and video.

And that they have JR do all the talking in between songs is the least surprising thing I've ever seen.

And here's JR not talking

Getting Caught Up

I know I'm behind, I just haven't been able to get caught up this week.  We went to visit JR this weekend, and though I didn't take many pictures, we did all the things and had a great time.

We saw lots of the friends

We ate lots of food (including our favorite donuts)
And yes, the ones with a baby are Mardi Gras King Cake donuts.

And here's a picture of Jason so you know he was there too.
