Table Pictures

I took exactly one picture at Christmas.

My table.

Then we arrived in Breckenridge to no snow.

So here's the table yesterday afternoon.

And here it is this morning after some snow.

Christmas Pig and Chicks

We went with Kyle to see Iris and check out his new baby chicks.

The new baby chicks are super cute.

And Iris is looking good!

Here she goes off to get weighed...she's 186 pounds.

Christmas Possum

We got in from NYC on Sunday after:

our flight being cancelled, getting on another flight, not having one of our bags make it to Houston, and my view from the window before take-off looking like this.

It was definitely a big day, and we were getting ready for bed when I heard Chloe's possum bark.  I screamed at Kyle to go get her, and instead of Kyle walking in the house with Chloe, this was going on.

Chloe is just a blur in this picture because she was jumping and still trying to get the possum.

Apparently, Chloe ran the possum up the tree, but when Kyle came to get her, she sprung into action and grabbed it off the tree with her mouth and the few teeth she has left.

It immediately played possum, so Kyle just picked it up.

Kyle had to bring the possum in the house to get Chloe to come inside, and then the possum was quickly returned to the tree to continue on with his evening plans.

Trying to Catch Up Again

I was already not caught up, so of course, I tagged along with Jason to NYC, to get even farther behind in getting ready to make Christmas "magical".

Jason had a work thing he had to go to, and then here's all the other things we did:

We went and got our picture made at Fox News (twice).  And yes, I'm wearing 2 coats.

We went to see Chess, and it was amazing. Jason perked way up when a girl did a sliding split across the stage.

We also saw The Play That Goes Wrong and we were crying laughing it was so funny.

Speaking of crying, I started crying at lunch because this meal (and the restaurant) made me feel like we were sitting back in Beijing.

Other meals did not make me cry

We saw the tree (and it's really big)

And we saw the Macy's windows' displays (which are not as big as you'd think they'd be)

And we saw Uncle Cole who also was in town

I had a Christmas party at our house last night, and I have one tonight and one tomorrow, so I'm still not going to be caught up!

Catching Up (Sort of)

It seems I can't get caught up with life these days! Jason and I went on a cruise for a week right after Thanksgiving and I'm just behind on everything.

We had a fabulous time, but I only have 3 pictures to show for the entire week.  I guess I was too busy stuffing my face and not moving off the lounge chair to take any pictures!

Here's every picture I have.

Thanksgiving

We had a very nice Thanksgiving.

Unfortunately, Reed was dethroned in the Turkey Trot by an Iron Man and came in 5th overall (out of about 700 runners).

But I think he's ok since he caught a big fish.

And here's my mom and me posing with all the food we didn't cook, so that always makes everything taste better!

Double Nickel

Jason celebrated his double-nickel birthday yesterday, and we did lots of celebrating.

We had a party with our friends last weekend.

Clearly, I think Jason and or his cake are absolutely hysterical.

Then Grandpa took the family to dinner to celebrate, and this is the only picture I took.

And last night, Jason and I went out.  I, being the amazing wife I am, was so excited about going to eat dinner I couldn't think of anything else, and completely forgot to give him his present...the entire day!

We are doing our favorite thing next week, so the celebration can continue!

Fancy Pants

It was a fancy week last week.

Jason and I were invited to a black tie event and we looked like this

And then I had a charity fashion show I modeled in.

Renaissance Festival

We spent all of our life's savings at the Renaissance Festival this weekend.  We haven't been since the kids were little because we've been having to save up to afford to go again.

As usual, they ate all the food: 3 turkey legs, a sausage on a stick, an order of empanadas, a fried chicken on a stick, an order of fried Oreos, and an ice cream sandwich.

They played all the usual games.

One guess who was the only one able to pop a balloon in archery.

No, you're wrong.  It was this one!

I made them all recreate photos from when they were little.

And they all beat each other up in the pillow slapping game, so enjoy....

Kyle and Jason won a sticker for their victories

Shooting Things

Kyle is doing shooting sports this year and he had his first tournament on Sunday.  I'm not exactly sure what the events are called, but I went and watched and I thought Kyle did a good job.  (Jason confirmed that, yes, he did well for his first tournament ever.)

Balloon Post

The reason Reed was wearing a Yale T-shirt is because Wednesday was National Signing Day and one of Reed's best friends signed at Yale.

Guess who made his balloons?

I think Reed is giving his stamp of approval on the balloons.
