Game Day

The boys all had game day on Saturday.

Reed is in the thick of it.

This is one of our neighbors/family friend.

JR's game days look a little different these days

And Kyle's school doesn't have a football team, but I don't think they are too worried about that.

Not a Model

I attended the annual fashion show our school district has every year.  I felt like a grandmother compared to all the elementary moms, and I've even graduated from getting to model since I'm an empty nester now. But I looked like this and had fun even though I wasn't the star of the show.

They're Doing a Good Job

So since they boys are doing a good job of sending me pictures, I'm holding up my end of the bargain and blogging with what I get.

Lots of time is being spent at the fraternity houses.

With Kyle enjoying the dog the most.

Much to JR's chagrin he's not spending time on sorority row, but he did send us his headshot he had taken during orientation.

I can't believe how much he looks like Jason (and not me) in this picture!

Colorado Chloe

Jason and I named Chloe "Colorado Chloe" on this trip, as she was acting different in Colorado than she does in Houston, so here are some pictures of all the things Colorado Chloe enjoyed.

Hung out on the porch

Rode the bus

And the gondola

Took outside naps

And naps in her favorite chair

She hiked

Posed with pretty flowers

And hid in her "nest"

She guarded the house

And took her annual picture with the troll.

Chloe Goes on a Plane (2 actually)

Chloe has lots to say about her trip to Colorado, as she was very excited to take her first plane ride.

My first plane ride. By Chloe.

I wore my dress, we don't wear pajamas and house shoes to the airport, and checked in.

I made it through security (Mama carried me through the metal detector)

Then I went to the club.
I had treats and those made me relax.

Then things took a turn for the worse.

And then they went from worse to even more worse.

Finally, I was set free!

I refused to use the airport porta potty (pet relief area) but I was officially in Colorado and ready to start my vacation!

At the end of the week, I wasn't ready to leave.  I had no desire to come back to the Houston heat and humidity.  Unfortunately for me I was drugged and transported across state lines without my consent.  This is my face.

I was told I passed the flying test, although I heard Mama and Daddy saying something about "it's like flying with a toddler". I have no idea what that means, so I'll be expecting to be taken on all flying vacations from now on.

The Last One (Sort Of)

So I said I was going to end my blog today, but the boys don't want me to.  I told them that nobody wants to read about what Jason and I are doing, so they promised me they would send pictures, and they said I only have to blog once or twice a month if I will just keep doing it.

So, the ball is in their court.  If they send me things to blog about, you'll get blogs.  If they don't, you won't.

Both of our new college freshman pledged fraternities this weekend.  I don't want to say which ones they pledged because I don't want to get them in trouble (even though I know there is "no such thing as hazing")

So here is Kyle and his new pledge class.

You can use the clue in the picture to figure out which one he's in.

Here's Reed and some of his new pledge brothers.  He pledged a fraternity that starts with the same letter as Kyle's and has 3 letters in its full name.

They are both staying very busy.

First Day of School #2

Reed had his first day of school on Monday.  He says he likes all his classes.

I asked him to make sure he got a first day of school picture and I was excited that he actually listened to me!

Last to Leave the Nest

It's only fitting that the youngest one was the last to leave the nest,

We started the morning with the Aggie War Hymn.  Chloe was about as impressed as me.

Then Reed said goodbye to his favorite.

Chloe has one less job now that she is retired as Reed's emotional support animal.

Move in was hot. It was harder than Kyle's, but way easier than JR's.

Reed is living on campus in one of the honors dorms, and we couldn't believe how big his room is.
He has 4 closets!

He is so close to home, I don't really even feel like he's moved away.

First Day of School #1

JR and Kyle both started school yesterday.

JR had orientation last week and facetimed us to show us how nice he looked.

And had his first day of class yesterday.

And we got a first day of class photo from Kyle too.

His first day of 13th grade!

Move In #1

This weekend was Kyle's Charleston move in.

The hardest part was saying goodbye to Chloe.

We checked 5 bags of luggage, flew to Charleston, and move in couldn't have been easier.

He's in a 3 bedroom/3 bath dorm with 6 guys.  And they have a great view.

Kyle and his roommate Charlie

And it didn't take him long to start enjoying his new home.

Wedding Season

Jason and I are back in wedding season.  After not going to any weddings for years, we are back in the swing of things as our friends' kids get married.

We had a very beautiful wedding in Houston last weekend for one of my sorority sister's daughters.

(I think we forgot we're not still 22).

I made Jason take photo booth photos too.

And here we are hanging out in front of a giant fan because we're at a wedding in Houston in August.  You can literally see us sweating in the picture.

I'm Still Not Sure He's Finished

I never say never with JR, so I still don't believe this was final summer in Gulf Shores.  This was his 4th summer, and they played this video of him on the big screen after his final set.

These have been such great summers for him!

Breckenridge #2

We usually get to see wild animals, and this year was no exception.

We had hummingbirds on the front porch.

Chipmunks on the back patio.

And bears outside the front door!

Breckenridge #1

We spent less than a week in Breckenridge this summer.  Chloe didn't get to go (which she was furious about) but we didn't do much of anything but relax.

Reed went to the top of the peak.

And Kyle panned for gold because we were such mean parents we never let him do it as a little kid.

Jason and Scott dressed like they were going to a 1983 themed frat party.

And we tried to take a selfie with the gondola in the background.
