We had a couple of events in April where we got dressed up enough to have our picture made:
This one was a spring colors theme.

Reed and his JA team won first place this weekend at an entrepreneurship contest at Baylor.
They missed school Friday and headed off to Waco. (Which I'm pretty sure means Reed didn't attend school any Friday in the month of April.)
They had a tour of Baylor, and ate dinner at one of the dining halls, which he said was "excellent".
He said the business school and the campus were very nice.
Then on Saturday they brought home their 1st place finish.
So we ate the fish that Kyle cleaned in the driveway.
Obviously I didn't cook it, but Jason did.
As you could see from the family pictures, JR was not at Easter this year.
Kyle went fishing over the long weekend, and when he came home, I asked him if he caught anything. He told me an 18-inch trout.
I said, "oh, do you have a picture of it?" and he said "even better it's in the driveway."
So I peeked out the backdoor, and sure enough, a fish was being filleting on my driveway.
I immediately went back inside where I called Jason to inform him that I was not enough of a boy mom to handle a fish being cleaned on my driveway.
Kyle then wanted to know if I would cook it for him.
And as we all know, I would have no idea where to even begin...which is what I told him.
So here's the fish, and no, I didn't take pictures of it on my driveway.
The other day after school Reed texted me (from upstairs) that he was going to play in a young life pickleball tournament. Three things struck me as odd about this since: 1. Reed doesn't do anything in the evening but study 2. He's not in young life 3. I can't remember the last time he played pickleball.
But after finding out it was a tournament where they could win money, it made total sense why he was excited to go.
With Kenny being a tennis player, they came out on top (as Reed put it "I just let Kenny dominate") and walked away with the (literal) big check.
We had a very nice Easter yesterday.
We all wore our Easter best.
Before everybody gets worked up about "poor JR", because it looks like we didn't take him to the Masters, just know that he was absolutely invited. He chose to go to New Orleans to his fraternity formal instead. I would like this formally noted in the record books so that in future years Jason and I aren't told about how we took the whole family to the Masters but him.
And here is the photographic evidence of him enjoying himself in New Orleans (which I found on Insta).
I'm not sure going to The Masters was on the top of my list of things to do, but I'm so glad I went. We had the best time, and it really was the nicest event I've ever been to.
I knew we weren't going to be able to take our phones or a camera, so I made Jason take lots of pictures so I would have something to put in this blog.
So here we are on the way to the airport
Kyle and Jason went on a college tour to visit Montana State this weekend. Montana is about a million miles away from Houston, so it took them 2 airplane rides and a full day to get there. In fact, It's so far away it's an 11 hour drive from Denver. Because they are guys, I got very little information or pictures from the weekend, despite that they had a full calendar of tours on Friday.
I got a picture of them eating dinner
This week was the district track meet for Reed. He had 2 great races this, and as Reed said "it's a solid way to end the year."
Monday night he ran the 3200 (2 miles for us Americans) in 9:59. He got 8th place. His fastest time ever is a 9:57, so he was happy with a 9:59.
You might have noticed Jason's "fancy" sportscoat in Kyle's picture. We had a Vegas themed event to go to as soon as we were done taking pictures of the boys, so yes, we stood out a bit.
Here we are, certainly not as cute as the kids, but we are still pretty cute.
And I do love that I've gotten to wear this headpiece to two things (Mardi Gras and this) so far this year.
Well, I think the tuxedos can be put away until next year. The boys were invited to junior girls, and what was supposed to be a total rainout, turned out to be a beautiful evening for pictures!
And as always, make sure you check out my nosegays!
