Exciting Stuff #5

Kyle and Reed went on a 24 mile (yes, 24 miles) bike ride with our next door neighbors.

I think it's the first time in their lives they came home completely worn out.

Obviously we don't have any mountains in Houston.  We hardly have any hills, so this is about as close to mountain biking as you can get in a city that sits 50 feet about sea level.

Really Over Us

Not only has Chloe been putting herself to bed early, now she's refusing to go on her evening walks.

I just can't imagine what's making her so tired.

Homeschooling Week 3 and 4 and Forever

I was so excited to watch our governor's press conference yesterday, as I was sure he was going to open Texas.

Not only did he not open anything, but he cancelled school for the rest of the year.  I was furious, disappointed and so sad.

So here's what the kids look like homeschooling this week, which I guess we will now be doing forever since we have apparently been put under house arrest for the rest of our lives.

This must have been a zoom call with a class for JR since it's day time...and he's wearing a shirt.

I had to make toilet paper roll puppets this week.

Kyle needed one for theater class and Reed needed one for art class.  You can tell that my feelings about homeschooling and house arrest are directly proportional to the quality of my puppets.

Exciting Stuff #4

I've been under house arrest for 31 days (not that I'm counting).

We have now been reduced to doing bicycle tricks for entertainment.

Reed

Kyle
(Normally I would be screaming at Kyle to stop before he hurts himself and can't dive, but since he can't dive anyway, who cares?)

And, as they called it, "synchronized".

And no, they don't have helmets on.  And no, I don't care.

Possum Return

We were social distancing in the back yard the other night with Jason's friend, Jay.

I even have proof how far away we were in case anybody wants to turn me in.  JR had to move in closer than where he was just to take this picture.

About 9:00 our possum showed up.  And Jay thought it would be a good idea to grab its tail.

I'm warning you now to turn the volume down or watch it on mute because the video is literally me shrieking and squealing.

And then Jay took a close up picture of it.

Not surprisingly, the possum had no interest hanging around with us any longer and moved on down the fence line to the next house.

Easter 2020

I haven't been to the grocery store in about 2 weeks, so the Easter Bunny had to fill baskets with what was in the pantry.  Luckily the Easter baskets were in the pantry, because plastic eggs were not...which means I just made a construction paper egg in to an envelope to put cash in.

Here is our Easter picture this year. We watched 2nd Baptist on the TV (it was live).

And then Jason did surf and turf for dinner.  It was as good as a restaurant.

It was sad watching church on TV, it was sad not being with our family, the whole thing is just sad.
