On Sunday

We went to a Rockies game with our church (they even won).

Some watched the actual game, better than others.

And Kyle was able to upgrade to peanut earrings on both ears.

Clearly, it was a big day.

Back to Normal

Don't worry.
The universe is once again in alignment.

We went skating again today.
(Have I mentioned how much they love it?)

Thank goodness I have $1 cards.
That's right, it cost us a buck each (plus $1.50 skate rentals) everytime we go.
I think staying home might be more expensive.

Reed practiced for the limbo contest the entire time we were there.
Asking me over and over to correct his form.
Had he not won, I'm not sure I could have endured the agony of his defeat.

Thankfully he won.
(Blue Cotton Candy if you were wondering.)
The smile of a limbo winner jacked up on sugar.

Limbo (With Video)

The other night JR had his end of season drama party.
It was a skate party, and family and friends were invited.
The entire Ingy family tore up the skate floor, and Kyle walked away the big winner of the night beating out 25 kids in the limbo contest.

I think Reed is still stunned that Kyle beat him.
(Reed got out before the winning round).
And, of course, there were tears on Reed's part.

But just look how excited Kyle is.

He won 25 tickets with his lucky spin card, which he used to pick out fake play money and a plastic skateboard keychain. (I'm having Chuck E Cheese flashbacks.)

And here's the winning limbo. The video is (literally) all of 5 seconds, and that loud screaming/cheering...is me.
Which just goes to show, I will cheer like crazy for my kids in even the most mundane contests.
(I can't help it, I inherited it from my mom.)

Fashion Fabulous Friday

Doesn't matter if it's blades or wheels on the bottom of your shoes.

They're both totally in this week.

Ducks Abunch

We just happened to be in Crested Butte for two super fun events.

First, we bought two rubber ducks to compete in the 24th Annual Rubber Duckie Race.
Kyle and Reed were convinced they were going to win.

Reed wanted 1st place: $3,000 which he was going to spend on a Disney World trip for Jason, JR, Kyle, and himself. (I was not invited.)
Kyle wanted to win 2nd place: which as he put it was "a week at a fancy hotel for skiing".

And even though their duck numbers were 13,568 and 13,569 they still thought they had a chance of winning. Especially, Mr. Competitive, Reed.

Patiently waiting to see the ducks race.

Trying to see if the lead ducks are theirs.
(Our group starts with Jason's orange hat and continues to Reed's orange shirt.)

The lead ducks...and just look how many are in the background still to come!

Kyle handled his duck defeat well, but Reed broke down into tears...which just made Jason and me laugh.

But not to worry...

When Scott came in from playing golf he told Kyle and Reed that someone came up to him on the golf course, and told him that the twins that were at the duck race actually won.
(It's amazing how that happened.)

And that they had each won...a dollar!

Cheers and happiness reigned throughout the land again.
(Thanks again, Scott.)

But it wasn't just the kids being charitable, that same night we adults attended the Adaptive Sports charity dinner (which was a western theme).

Now you know how we love a silent auction around these parts...just look at Debbie modeling her "winnings" from the Betsey Johnson basket (scarf, shoes, sunglasses, watch).

And here Jason and I are at the live auction trying to make sure we don't make any sudden movements with our hands since things like African safaris and Swiss Alps ski trips were being sold from $30-$50,000!

Don't Tell Them Hiking is Really Just Walking

We spent a super relaxing weekend in Crested Butte with our neighbors/friends The Stengers (Zoe's family) at their mountain house.
At 9,500 ft elevation, I felt like I was back in Durango, although I think Crested Butte might have Durango beat in the pretty scenery department.

The boys (minus JR, he's still vacaying on his own in TX) had a blast and would tell me their favorite part of the day each night.
And even though there were some big favorites, they proclaimed the 'big fun thing' of the weekend as (drum roll, please)
hiking!

A boy and his BB gun.

The bigger the walking stick, the better.

Most of the group

Kyle, Anna, Reed, Emily...and look who's back there smiling...It's Zoe!
As you can see, Maggie (the other dog) hasn't been trained by Zoe in picture posing.

Kyle was thrilled to catch this butterfly.
And most surprisingly, the butterfly lived to tell about it.

Family portrait minus JR plus Zoe.
