Marcia's Wedding Pictures

As promised here are some pictures from Marcia and Adam's Bahamian Wedding:

We enjoyed 3 nights in the Bahamas before the wedding. Here's Jamie, Kelly, Shelley, Jason and me after dinner Thursday night.

We're on our way to the rehearsal dinner that was held at The Jumbey Cafe in Nassau. I'm surprised Jason is sitting by me and not his girlfriend, Shelley!

Here's the Bridal Party. Shelley, Shari, Marcia, Jill (Marcia's new sister in law), me, and Kelly

The rain held off just in time to finish the ceremony. Don't the dark clouds make a beautiful back drop? And check out how tall Adam is....remember we are all barefooted!

JR would be upset if he didn't appear somewhere in this blog, so here he is. We just happened to run into JR and Granny Sherry on our way from the wedding to the reception.

As you can see, a good time was had by all!

Bahama Mama

We got home from the Bahamas yesterday. Marcia and Adam had an unforgettable wedding! They were married on the beach and the rain held out just in time for them to finish the ceremony. With the rolling clouds and the huge waves it was really quite beautiful, but the bride was the most beautiful of all! I don't have any pictures of the wedding to share, but when Shelley posts hers on Snapfish I'll snatch a few and post here. Congratulations Marcia and Adam! JR had fun at the Atlantis resort, he was upset that he couldn't ride all the waterslides (you have to be 48 inches) but Jason took him jet skiing and that seemed to be enough danger and excitement for him! Now I have the fun task of getting all the laundry done from the trip.....it's times like this I sure do miss our Ayi!!
Here's a short video of Jason and JR jet skiing and swimming in the ocean.

9/4/07

Thank goodness JR had a good day at school! He got in the car and said he had “an awesome day”, the teacher didn’t tell me otherwise, so we’re going to go with “awesome”. JR’s highlights of school today include: getting to help the teacher, one of his friends having an accident (in his pants which JR so vividly described), learning how to spell the word “red”, and playing with “lots of friends” at recess. Alas, we still don’t know any of these friends’ names, except for his friend Miracle. Best I can tell, Miracle and JR are big buddies. JR still hasn’t learned the advantages of learning his friends’ names. In China everybody has a title so the Chinese really never learn anybody’s real name. JR still calls Melissa, his Beijing best friend, “Mei-Mei” which means “little sister”.

In other exciting news we are leaving in the morning for the Bahamas. My sorority sister, Marcia, is getting married on Saturday. I’m a bridesmaid in the wedding, and we are going down tomorrow to have a little mini vacay before the festivities. The wedding is at The Atlantis and we are staying there too, so I’m sure I’ll have some fun stories for when we return!
