What an Hour or Two of Work Will Get Ya

The crafting continued this evening, and JR and I knocked these Christmas ornaments out in record time.
(Even with Kyle and Reed's "help".)

Grandmothers, act surprised when you open these Christmas Day.

What 5 Months Work Will Get Ya

After JR finished up his latch hook dog pillow, we went out and bought a Christmas rug project.

I never dreamed we'd cut it this close, but five months later we're finally finished.
And when I say 'we' I, of course, mean:
JR, me, and this little helper.

It's so freshly finished we haven't even cut it into its rug shape yet.

And though it is technically a rug,
JR and I'll both have a heart attack if somebody actually steps on it!

And there were Costumes!

We took the kids to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science today.

It was a big hit with all of them.

And opportunities for costuming abounded:

Astronaut

Mule Deer

Scientist

And my favorite...

the red version of a blue man group member.

(That's Kyle's imprint in the giant pin art.)

Light Up the Night

I guess I should start by saying that we aren't home.

We're in that far, far magical land called Denver.
Chuck E. Cheese and Nordstrom are right down the road.
Like I said, magical.

We took the kids to Zoo Lights last night, and when they say lights, they mean lights.
It's kinda hard to impress me when it comes to Christmas decorations, but impress me they did!

Of course pictures of lights don't ever turn out, but I do have pictures of us.

a 100%, a 1/2, and two 25% Norwegians.
(Kyle and I decided not to ruin their gathering of the blue-eyes.)

JR finds Mecca

They look like they almost like each other.

And I was there too!

Where Ya Been Hidin'

Sam the elf has been super busy since last you saw him.

He's been tending to our home livestock by...

riding peacocks

babysitting the ducks

And, of course, alligator wrestling.

And if you think alligator mouth sittin' might be a little dangerous...

How about a little trapezing from the chandelier?

Or the even scarier...

too much caffeine and sugar!

He's Come a Long Way

Just check out Kyle before his mall (I mean, "North Pole") visit with Santa.
Big difference from a week ago when he was hiding under chairs!
