Rolling Stones

Jason and I went to see the Rolling Stones last Saturday.

It's not like we're the biggest Rolling Stones fans, but how do you not go see them since you never know how much longer they'll be around.

Well, by the looks of it, Mick Jagger will be around 20 more years.  He strutted and danced around that stage for 2 hours.  He had 4 costume changes, and he sounded great.

I'm so glad we went.

And be sure and check out the couple behind me that's clearly having a way better time than me!

Finishing the Season

Diving season runs until the end of July, so while everybody else was away, Kyle was at the pool and gym.

He did some great stuff in the gym

Which didn't always end so great on the board.

He ended the season learning a back 1 and 1/2 which he was very excited about!

He's off from diving until the middle of September, and we are excited to see where next year takes him.

They Are Home

JR and Reed are both back home.

JR was in Panama City with the church.  He was supposed to be there doing mission work and reading his bible, but all the pictures I saw looked more like he on college spring break.

Reed spent the week with Maw-Maw and Paw-Paw, and did all the things you do at Maw-Maw and Paw-Paw's house:

Seeing movies (I think they saw 4, and Reed even drug poor Maw-Maw to see Crawl)

Catching fish

Eating out every meal (this is at Mr. Hamburger)

And winning awesome stuff out of the claw machine.

3 Up 3 Home

JR is at church camp this week, so the 4 of us went to the Astros game the other night.

Besides me having a slight panic attack most of the game since all but 3 of the Rangers were batting lefty (and lefty batters hit the foul balls that have a chance of knocking me unconscious) we all got to see something we'd never seen before.

3 homeruns in a row.

Altuve, Bregman, and the newest Astro, Yordan Alvarez, all hit homeruns one after another.
It was really fun to watch.  And the Astros won!

My twins looking somewhat like actual twins.

Schlitterbahn #9

If my calculations are right, this was our 9th annual Schlitterbahn trip.

Since the kids are all self-sufficient, it means the trips are a lot easier than they used to be.

I didn't take any pictures, but I did take one of JR refusing to sleep in a bed and choosing to sleep on the kitchen floor on top of couch cushions and under towels.
(Don't feel sorry for him, he picked this.)

The kids (and adults) had tons of fun and the kids were absolutely mesmerized by the "old timey" phone that was at a cute restaurant we ate lunch at on our last day.

Another Gruene Night!

We just got back from our annual Schlitterbahn trip...which always starts with a trip to Gruene.

We always eat at the Gristmill and always make a stop in Gruene Hall.

JR was excited to see some of his favorites on the wall at Gruene Hall.
(He's wearing a Midland t-shirt and pointing at Midland.)

And stood on the stage...just in case he ever gets to play there for real we'll have this picture

The Littles just wanted to play pool...which we were fine with since the adults just wanted to sit and talk.

Where were the Others?

JR went to Maw-Maw and Paw-Paw's for 4th of July.  (He drove himself up there and back...be still my heart.) I have no pictures or video from his time up there, but I was told that Paw-Paw and JR sang "Old Rugged Cross" together for the special music at church.

Chloe went to Granny Sherry's where she came home svelte and trim from her daily walks and looking beautiful from her bath.  There was even photo evidence that she was happy and smiling while she was away.

Weekend Hunt

And when you stay with Grandpa you know there's more than likely going to be some sort of hunting trip involved.
They headed up to Utopia, Texas and came home with these.

And, of course, Kyle will always take advantage of a beautiful back drop.

The 4th

Kyle and Reed stayed with Grandpa Gary and Granny Buffie while Jason and I were on our cruise.

Here's how they spent the 4th of July.

You'd think I'd know by now that they have to take everything to the next level....including a basic slip and slide.

5 Nights 2 Pictures

Jason and I just got back from a 5 night cruise (without the kids!)

We had so much fun, and I'm pretty sure it would have been impossible for us to eat anymore than we did.

We went to the spa 2 days, which was awesome, and we won movie love songs trivia.  We also came in 2nd in Big Bang Theory trivia (which we would have won, but I said that Howard went to couples counseling with his mom instead of the correct answer, Raj.)

We went to Progresso and Cozumel where we got off the boat for about 10 minutes in both ports and bought absolutely nothing.

We bought 2 cruise pictures which are the only 2 pictures we have of the entire trip!

Looks Like a Winner to Me

I went over to help Shelley and Zachary with his 4th of July parade float again this year.

Last year he was in the "buggy" category, but since he can ride a bike now, he'll be in bikes this year.
I always say there's not enough surface area of a bike to decorate, so we rigged up a wagon for him to pull behind.

He wasn't so sure about what I was doing to his helmet, but I kept telling him that was the icing on the cake!

Fingers crossed we've got ourselves a winner!

No Coach/No Wins

Reed's no-coach basketball team with his buddies season has come to an end.
They lost all their games, but they had so much fun.

They all loved it  (loved playing together) and would do it again...and maybe they can win at least one game next time!
