Nashvegas

I'm not sure why Nashville is called Nashvegas because it's not like Vegas at all, it's a million times better.

Even with all the stupid covid restrictions like closing everything at 11 (because you can only get covid after 11) and no dancing (because covid knows if you're shaking your bootie) we had an amazing time!

I can't wait to go back and take JR!

We got off the plane and went straight to Jason Aldean's restaurant.

The whole reason we went on the trip was to go to the White Limonene the Dolly Parton inspired bar, which is on the rooftop of a hotel  We got all the way over to it and they told us the bar was shut down because of covid, but that they didn't put that on the website because they didn't want people to stop staying at the hotel.  So Minnie Pearl in the hotel lobby was as close to Dolly as I got.

So instead, we did other Nashville things...like getting our pictures made with the famous wings

And visiting Jessie James Decker's store

We ran in to John Michael Montgomery's son who invited us to hear him play at a bar since his new album was dropping that night.  We decided later that John Michael Montgomery was famous enough that his son probably didn't need to scour the streets looking for people to come hear him play, but we looked it up, and bless his heart, it really was him.

We did a good job of taking pictures on day 1

Day 2 we went to the Country Music Hall of Fame.  I could have spent all day in there!

And we rode scooters around town

That night we went to Kid Rock's bar.  Which I will say, has the best nachos I've ever eaten!

Our last day we had the best time seeing the city on a tour bus.

And then we went and listened to live music, all of which were amazing enough to be on the radio right now.

We couldn't have had more fun, and it was so great to get out and be almost normal before they lock us all up again.

More Monday Night Football

We were excited to have another football game last week.  I didn't record any of Reed's defensive plays, but he did an amazing job as safety.

Here he is playing running back and on the last play wide reciever...so enjoy this montage of me screaming like a crazy person.

And some more amazing pictures that I didn't take (obviously).

And some pictures of his defensive moves

Still Wranglin'

With the high school theatre department cancelling the fall musical, I've been so happy that JR has had the football games.

I get lots of texts from cheer and football moms referring to JR as their "favorite wrangler".  And with pictures like this, it's easy to see why.  (I think you'll be able to find him.)

Kyle, Reed, and Granny Sherry went to see him "wrangle" at the game this weekend and when I asked Reed if JR was the best one he said, "Obviously."

He's definitely his mother's child.  He's easy to find in this picture too, pretty sure he thinks the crowd is cheering for him (I would.)

Back in Business

As of yesterday, Kyle has all his dives back from having to be out for so long for Covid shutdowns.

I just love this picture of him.

Parents still aren't allowed at the pool, so I haven't been able to watch him, but he's been able to get some of the other kids to video him.

Monday Night Lights

Reed's middle school football team still hasn't won a game, but they got pretty close this week.  And a friend took this great picture of him, so I'll call that a win.

This game he was able to gain some yards as running back, so that was fun to watch!  He's the one running with the ball in this video.

Halloween 2020

Halloween 2020 wasn't nearly as scary as the rest of the year has been.

Kyle wore Reed's cactus costume from last year, he said most people thought he was Covid, so he said he just went with it.  Reed wore a hazmat suit I found cleaning out the high school theatre storage locker.

Speaking of costumes I found in the theatre storage locker, I also found this robe to which another mom and I screamed "Cobra Kai!" as soon as we saw it.  I brought it home to Jason so I'd have my very own Johnny Laurence.

JR decided to be Burt Reynolds.  He said that nobody knew he was, but that he looked good, so that was all the mattered.

Our neighborhood probably had about half the trick-or-treaters we normally do.  Jason, Chloe, and I sat in the driveway and passed out candy.  I wore cat ears, so I guess I was a cat.

Chloe guarded the trick or treat table and barked at dogs wearing costumes.

Which really wore her out!
