TV Stars

Jason took JR, Reed, and his friend, Sean, to the Astros game on Saturday night.
I was catching up on my Housewives when I got a text from a friend that her son was screaming that Reed was on TV.

She then sent me these pictures confirming that Reed was on TV.

Sean and Reed

And this picture just cracks me up.
Just look at that "I'm sneaking myself on camera" smile!

A Triathlon (Sort Of)

The Racquet Club had their bi-annual triathlon today and somehow my friends and I got talked in to doing it.

While, yes,  it's technically a triathlon (swim 100 meters/bike 20 miles/run 5K), you have to remember that we are swimming in a heated pool, riding spin bikes, and then jogging in the neighborhood.

The only hard part was getting up at 6:00 AM.

Oh, and I didn't even do the swim portion.  I'm not a swimmer so one of the guys who does the "master swim" class swam for me.

My friends I work out with
(The one next to me came in 2nd overall.)

Here we are biking our 20 miles...or as it should be called... "having a spin class".
(I'm in the white tank top in the front row looking like I'm dying. I think I'm actually talking...or singing along to the music.)

Then we went for our 5K wog. (a walk/jog)
I haven't run in 3 years and I don't miss it at all!

We had fun, got to wear matching t-shirts and hats, and didn't come in last!
Success!

And no, I will not be training for a real triathlon anytime soon!  This fake triathlon is as hard core as I get these days.

Lap Dogs

That is definitely a lap full of happy dogs.

Though Chloe may be giving me a little side-eye from distracting her from her ride.

Quick Austin Trip

Jason and Reed snuck off early Friday and went up to Austin for a UT baseball game.
Now I know you might be wondering why Jason would go to a UT baseball game and not an A&M game.

Well, Reed wanted to go to a Texas game, plus the game they went to was the only college game that would work in both Jason and Reed's schedules.

They got there Friday afternoon and did a little sightseeing.

They went by the Castilian...and I immediately sent this picture to Caroline too.

They went by the KD house

And Kyle told Reed he needed to see the turtle pond, so they went by there too.

They ate a late lunch at In and Out Burger and then headed to the game.

The Longhorns won (of course they did) and they spent the night and were home the next day for Reed to play in his baseball game.

Meet Boomer

Our next door neighbor dog, Bindi, got a new brother.

His name is Boomer, and if you know anything about us Ingersolls, you know we love a puppy.

We all ran over to welcome Boomer to the neighborhood.

Here I am trying to reassure Bindi we love her just as much as we ever did.

Chloe was none too happy with us when we came home smelling like new puppy.  So she tried to make us feel guilty by being as cute as she can be.

Not Too Nervous

I might be too nervous to video Kyle at his meets, but I'm not too nervous when he's practicing.

These are a few dives I've gotten lately.
(And for those of us that are metric system challenged 5 meters is 16 feet.)

And JR isn't the only one with fabulous hair.
Kyle's after dive hot chocolate drinking hair is pretty good too.

Making Hog Hunting Great Again

So while we were hard at work in the press box, JR was busy on his trip with his buddies.

Busy making a dent in the Texas wild hog population that is out of control.

And making sure those hogs know America is great again.

It's a Hard Job

The two baseball teams with the best records played each other yesterday.

JR was out of town with his friends, so that left me to do the commentating (I even announced "JR is out of town so that leaves me, the second best public speaker in the Ingersoll Family"). Jason was trying to run the scoreboard (while also keeping the book).

We found that it actually took 4 of us to do JR's normal job.

In the 5th inning the score was tied and the other team was up to bat.  They had 1 out and the bases loaded.  One of the big hitting 5th graders from our school was up and we were thinking it was about to be lights out for our little team.

Sure enough he hit a hard line drive, but thankfully he hit it toward 3rd base. Reed jumped up and caught it and ran back to 3rd beating the kid that had started running toward home.

That double play by Reed ended the inning and kept them from scoring.  Our little team lost their minds and I might have been hanging out the press box window screaming something about Reed belonging to me at the top of my lungs.

So it was a tie game (which we will take) and we are all so proud that Reed belongs to us.

And the (Houston) Rockets Red Glare

Saturday was also a big day for JR.

He got to sing the National Anthem with the choir at the Rockets game.

You can imagine how excited JR was to even be in the same building with James Harden, much less stand on the same floor he stands on.

We didn't go to the game, but I got some great pictures and video from moms that did.

60 kids from Spring Branch Middle, Memorial Middle, and Memorial High got to sing.

There's JR on the jumbo-tron!
(left upper corner)

Here they are singing

Saturday with Reed

While Kyle was diving on Saturday, Reed was playing baseball.

At the beginning of the season I told Reed, "Y'all will be lucky to win 3 games."
His little team is now 7-1.

Lots of that is due to luck, but lots of it is that they've got 4 kids in the infield who know how to play baseball.

Reed is an amazing 3rd baseman.  He's never played 3rd base before, and he's one of the few kids in the league that can make the throw from 3rd to 1st look easy.  There have been plenty of kids Reed has gotten out at 1st after hitting a hard grounder toward 3rd.

I don't have any pictures of Reed's game (since I wasn't there) but here's one I took at another game,

He also played in his last team tennis tournament of the season on Sunday afternoon.
He played singles and won.

I don't have a picture of that either, but I do have a picture of him going out to play with Jason the other day.

We are really proud of both his baseballing and tennising!

Big Winner

All the kids had such a big weekend that we had to divide and conquer.

I'll start with the kid that had to get up the earliest on Saturday morning.  Kyle and I were up at 5:00 to go to the AAU Laura Wilkinson Invite.  Maw-Maw and Paw-Paw met us there for the 3 meter springboard event.

I thought Kyle was diving good, but after every dive I kept texting Jason "I thought it was good, but the scores don't show it."  Or "I thought it was good, but he didn't score high."

I'm so nervous for Kyle I can't video or take pictures, and I wasn't keeping up with what the other kids were scoring either.  So my parents and I were all in total shock when we figured out that Kyle won!

The kids were so far away from us this was the first picture I could get of him after his win.

Kyle and I were both so shocked and excited we were on the verge of tears.

This is only his 3 diving meet, and he's only been diving since September!

Kyle wanted a gold medal picture like the Olympians take

On Sunday we headed back out for him to dive 1 meter.  He's moved up to the Junior Olympic level (which we are so excited about) for 1 meter and our whole goal was not to finish last.

I write Kyle's dives on his hand so that's one less thing he'll have to remember.

He finished 8th out of 10, in 10-11 boys.  I think Kyle was a little disappointed, but Granny Sherry and I were very happy with that.

We are so proud of Kyle and the hard work he puts in to his diving.
His "no fear" attitude is absolutely perfect for this sport!

7:10

Instead of being in off-season football (which I'm guessing is hard) JR decided that being on the cross country team would be easy.

He went to his first meet yesterday and I got a text from Granny Sherry that said "he's definitely not last!" and this picture.

Not only was JR not last in the meet, he wasn't even the last runner to finish from his school.

They had to run a mile and his time was 7:10 which he was happy with.

I went ahead and took his cross country portrait myself so I don't have to buy the horrible one from the school.

Easter Pictures

Everybody was excited to get their Easter baskets.
I believe everyone got some sort of slides/flip-flops/Crocs this year.

Everyone was super dressed up, and since that never happens (except on a cruise) I made sure we took as many pictures as I wanted.

the twin brothers

All the brothers

Me with the boys
(If JR never grows another inch he'll be fine as longs as he marries a girl that's 5'2".  She'll be able to wear her highest heels and her tallest hats and be just fine!)

Jason with the boys

Granny and Jason with the boys

And the family picture

We went to Cadillac Bar for brunch after church and it was super yummy!

In the afternoon, Kyle went diving, Reed played tennis with Jason, and JR took himself to Sonic for a slushy, so it was a very good Easter Sunday.

Home Opener

MLB has started and JR is acting like he's part of the Astros.

I know every detail about their World Series rings and every banner/pennant they've added and/or removed from the field this year.

Unfortunately for JR, he had an umpiring job the night of the Astros home opener (and Kyle was diving), but Reed was free.

And Reed was super excited to get to go to the game with Jason last night.

Jason said getting in to Minute Maid Park was crazy...harder than getting into the World Series games!

30th Anniversary Pictures

I didn't take any of these pictures, I found them all on Facebook.

Pre Easter egg hunt photo.  Including Chloe, of course.

You have a pretty serious pinata swing when you play baseball...even with a bag on your head.

This smile is why we call him our "good time guy".

JR looks like he might be being helpful...

My cousin and I wearing slightly different versions of the same outfit.

When you've got kids old enough to take care of themselves you get to sit and swing.

And when you have really young kids or are a grandpa, you catch a nap whenever you can.
