Change Out

All the different friend groups over the last 2 weeks have come and gone.

Kyle, Reed, and Granny Sherry arrived yesterday. I'm pretty sure I won't see much of Kyle and Reed since their hikes are slightly more advanced than anything I want to do!

Obviously

Guess who was in the dunk tank at the camp carnival?

Is anyone surprised?

His Favorite Place

Kyle found himself back at his favorite place.

He might as well start working at the emergency room since he's there so much.
I'm still not sure the full story...he was on the paddle boat, trying to reel in a fish, and he lost his balance and fell.

And fractured his finger.

Treat Face

The face you make when you get 4 treats from 4 different stores walking down Main Street.

Summer Fun

Well, it seems everybody is happy doing whatever it is they might be up to.

Kyle and Reed are catching fish.

They sent me this one to show me the lure is bigger than the fish!

JR's having fun at camp.

He even brought his counselor friends by MawMaw and PawPaw's house on their afternoon off so MawMaw could do his laundry for him.

Chloe is enjoying the cool weather of Breckenridge.

And Jason and I are too.

Camp Update

I swear he took more than basketball jerseys in his trunk.

And I'd say he's having fun.

Things I Can't Do

At this point I think these two are just trying to see who can do the hardest things.

Aggieland Delight

Jason worked his magic and got us a pretty amazing private tour over at Aggieland last month.

We even got to ride around in a golf cart, which was the best part since it was so hot!

The tour was great, and I can see why Aggies love being Aggies.

Jason had them take him to specific dorms and entertained our tour guides with his stories, which they politely laughed at.

And JR decided the "rowdiest" dorm was the one for him.

They gave us a tour of the new engineering school so Jason could see it, but that will probably be the last time JR even steps foot in it.  The business school was more our speed.

Fireworks and Fish

The boys wanted to go to Maw Maw and Paw Paw's for 4th of July and surprise, surprise they did a whole lot of fishing.

They caught big fish

And little fish

And two fish at a time

All totaled they think they caught around 80 fish!

They also put on an hour long firework extravaganza for us.

Money well spent.

Back to Camp

JR got himself another job (that makes 3).

For the next 3 weeks he'll be a junior camp counselor at his old stomping grounds Camp Olympia.

We got him all packed up, with the most important things being his guitar and his cowboy hat.

He said, "I never thought I'd be going back to camp".

And I certainly never thought I'd see him drive himself off to camp.

Send Me Your Fish Recipes

So while Jason and I were celebrating our anniversary the kids were on a fishing vacation with Grandpa Gary and Granny Buffie.

I kept telling people they were "going to Michigan to go fishing", but I didn't even have them in the right state.  They were in Ohio fishing on Lake Erie for walleye.

Lots of early mornings

and this video Kyle sent saying "I bet mom is glad she's not on this boat"

was definitely enough to know that this would not be the vacation for me!

Kyle and Reed couldn't have been happier.

Grandpa claims he's not a fisherman, but I saw him with a big fish too.

JR came back and said, "I think I'm just going to vacation with mom at the spa from now on", but wouldn't you know it, he caught the biggest walleye of the whole trip.

 28 inches and 7 pounds.

I now have a freezer filled with about 100 pounds of fish that I have no idea how to cook.
