Ridiculous

Chloe is all of us dealing with this ridiculous heat.

Clearly someone is not pleased about not going to Colorado this summer.

Dive Camp

We dropped Kyle off at dive camp on Sunday.

We got to Austin a little early so we could have lunch and I could give the campus tour.

We ate hamburgers in the location that used to be a Taco Cabana.

Things have definitely changed around town (I literally had no idea where we were at times) but campus looks pretty much the same.

We made the Kyle requested stop at "Ms. Shelley's turtle pond".

And Reed requested to see what the inside of a library looked like, where Jason and I saw this and got nostalgic for our old homeland.

We got Kyle unpacked in his dorm, and here's hoping he'll have a fun week on campus.

21

Jason and I celebrated our 21st anniversary last week.

It was definitely a calmer celebration than last year, but we still had fun.

We only took 1 picture, which was this dinner selfie.

But I did take a picture of my flowers.  They smell so good they make the whole house smell like a florist.

And my traditional "Chloe as the size comparison" photo.

Some Not Near as Exciting Pre Father's Day Excitement

Last week Jason and I had two perfect storm nights where all the kids were gone.

JR: camp counseling

Kyle: MawMaw and PawPaw's fishing (without getting hooked)

And Reed: pole vault camp

So it was cheers to us!

Some Pre Father's Day Excitement

We were out Saturday night around 8:30 when Jason said, "that's Kyle face timing me".  It was Kyle showing Jason how he'd hooked his leg with his fishhook and asking him how could he get it out.

While Jason was still on the phone with Kyle explaining the reasons he probably wasn't going to be able to get it out by himself, I called my mom and in my calmest voice said, "Go down to the pond, pick up Kyle and take him to the emergency room, he's hooked his leg."

He wasn't hurt enough that he couldn't Snap it out immediately.

They made it to the emergency room

And my mom kept us updated.

And they finished up around 10:30.

After getting Kyle some dinner they made it home about midnight.  He got a tetanus shot and a round of antibiotics, and has decided that maybe he'll stick to fly fishing.

Father's Day

We had a great Father's Day celebrating all the dads.

We all had lunch and then Jason and I celebrated him by going to have foot massages!

We love all our dads!

Flag Day

I had a very enjoyable flag day.

I celebrated with some friends in Galveston this weekend.

I got a celebratory cake from my workout friends.

And since Reed is the only child at home, he got to celebrate last night too.

Not Surprised

Kyle and Reed didn't go to orientation.  One guess what they did instead...

Yep.

Our Own Orientation

You'll notice that I don't actually have any pictures of JR at orientation since we never really saw him. They separated the kids and parents after the welcome session, and that was the end of him acting like he knew us.

Here I am showing off my swag.

Jason and me eating lunch in the cafeteria like we think we're students.  Our student was off eating with the friends he made.

We also ate dinner by ourselves and slept in the hotel by ourselves.

Here we are the next day heading back for more orientation, alone again.

So there you go.  Jason and I had a very nice time at college orientation all by ourselves!

Feelin' the Same

I don't know why I thought we'd be relaxing this summer. We've been going nonstop since school let out. I'm definitely feeling the same as this racoon Kyle trapped at MawMaw and Paw-Paw's.

Don't worry, he was moved to the river and away from the chicken and guinea buffet.

Graduated and Birthdayed

JR is already at camp, but he came home just long enough to celebrate his birthday and graduate.

He came home Friday and we went to dinner to celebrate his birthday.

Then he graduated on Saturday morning.

The four of us took a picture of ourselves before we headed out to graduation because we're taking credit for all our support of getting him to the finish line.

He might not have been the Valedictorian, but he got elected one of the "most likelys" and in this family we'll celebrate any "honor"

After graduation we all lined up, had photos made with him, and ate lunch.

He was back on the road that afternoon and back at camp, where I was sent a picture of him on his actual birthday (Sunday) since I literally have eyes everywhere!
