Chloe!

Chloe says she's mad at me because I haven't featured her in the blog lately.

Yes, Chloe talks.
She actually has 4 voices...depending on who's talking for her.
(You can probably guess that Jason's the only one in the house that doesn't make Chloe talk.)

See how she laughs and talks with Reed.

And shows off her long legs...

And sits on the stairs so she can see out the door to guard the house.

And just be the sweetest baby ever.

What I'm Up To

I know I haven't been keeping up with my blog the way I usually do.
I'm just running out of time each day to do it.

I somehow got wrangled in to being an auction chair for Kyle and Reed's school auction.
Then I'm also on the auction committee at JR's.

That's right, both schools.  And to make it even more awful, I have the worst job possible at both, solicitations.

The way I see it, I'm getting it all done in one year and then I'll never ever have to do another school auction again!
Ever. Ever.

I'll be done with the elementary auction in November, and done getting solicitations for the middle school in December.

But being that I'm an auction chair at the elementary school, I wind up doing all kinds of stuff.
Like grabbing the neighbor kids after school so I have a cute auction advertisement to go in the PTA email.

Our theme is "Rock On".

And yes, of course, those are all my wigs and costumes.

I'm just waiting for a mad mama to approach me wondering why I didn't use her baby in the picture.  At least I can say, "Because you don't live across the street from me!"

High Jumping

I never know what Kyle is going to do next.
The other day I couldn't find my phone, when I did find it, I saw it was being used to self-video his "athletic endeavors".
AKA: practicing to be an Olympic high jumper.

(Be sure to watch for a JR cameo.)

If you're wondering what his "high jump bar" is made of, well, that's a pile of dirty clothes, pillows, and Kyle and Chloe's toys.

Once I discovered what he was doing, I decided to give him a hand with the videoing.

Can You Believe I Didn't Dance Too?

I was a chaperone at JR's Cotillion tonight.
I had strict instructions from him, which basically all boiled down to that I wasn't allowed to let anybody know we were related.

I wish I had gotten to do Cotillion as a girl, it looked so fun. I don't know how to do any of the dances they were doing, but I'd love to learn.  You could tell the kids were actually enjoying themselves.

JR did let me get a few pictures with him before we left the house.

Reed ran over and jumped into the picture too.

I took my heals off to show that he's just a smidge taller than me now...not that that's hard.

Reed says he'll let me come to his Cotillion and dance with him...I think he might change his mind in the next few years.

JR told me that I did a good job not embarrassing him and that nobody knew who I was.
 Success!

Open House Sports Report

Jason and I went to open house at JR's middle school last night.  The broadcast team did the announcements, and JR gave his sports report.

Ready

I usually don't decorate for Halloween this early, but I have a girls' trip coming up next weekend (YAY!) so I went ahead and got the black cats and pumpkins out.

It's always better to decorate too early than too late!

Trumped!

JR texted me this picture on Sunday.
It said "Grandpa met Trump!"

Grandpa Gary used his winning personality to land himself a picture with "Don" as he now calls him.

Gary told Donald that he was "really impressed with his sons" and then they had a quick conversation about the NRA, which is how the picture got taken in the first place.

And by the way, I had no idea "Don" was so tall!   Gary is 6'1".

It was Freezing There, Heat Index of 107 Here

Jason and I were invited to Telluride for the weekend, so we snuck away on Thursday and came back yesterday.  It was a fun weekend, and we learned just how out of shape we are when we went on a hike.

Here we are about 1/4 of the way up, I've shed my jacket but still have on my long sleeves.

After panting uphill for another hour, we made it to 10,000 feet.
(You can see we stripped off another layer!)

We were supposed to be in Telluride for the Blues and Brews Festival.
As I like to say, "I'm a festive girl, just not a festival girl."

I only went to the festival for about 10 minutes.  Here's documentation that I was there.

We got to eat at all our favorite restaurants and do all the things we like to do.

The only bummer to the whole weekend was that I only saw the inside of the Denver airport and downtown from the sky.

Social Media Darlings

I found this on Facebook and JR found it on Instagram.

Both ends of the front row belong to me.

Latest From Fashion Week

Remember when this child loved to accessorize and carry purses.

At least he still likes the idea of fine jewelry.

Even if it is a baby lizard earring.

Football (But Just Flag)

The boys have their first football game tomorrow.
There was some shady-sneaky behavior that went down at the draft (2 and 3 grade football drama!) so our little team is just hoping to win a game this season.

Reed is playing quarterback, running back, and wide receiver (depending on what the play is)

 and Kyle is playing center.

(If you don't know much about football that's the guy that snaps the ball to the quarterback...so I keep calling Kyle "the snapper".)

Reed is also on defense.  As you can see, he takes flag football pretty seriously.

Here's hoping for a win (just one!)

Hanging By a Thread

This is the first thing that greets you when you walk in my front door.

The other day the stuffed animals were "bungee jumping".
Yesterday they were "fly fishing".

And they're still hanging around today..,

Happy Birthday

We just rolled in from football practice (yes, that has started) but that still gives me a few hours to wish Grandpa Gary a happy birthday!

Even More Flips (But Backwards)

By the looks of my blog it seems all we do around here is flip.
Reed taught himself how to back flip this Labor Day weekend.

All he needs to do now is figure out how to stick the landing.

More Flips

Kyle has been working really hard on landing his front flip.
Granny Sherry was able to catch the final product the other night.
