Big JR at the Big Texan

You might recall that JR failed to eat the entire 18 oz steak at the Big Texan last year...which there is photographic evidence of.

He reattempted to eat it again this year.

He prepared himself by skipping breakfast and only eating French fries at lunch. His preparations worked and he was able to finish.

I wasn't there to witness the ridiculousness, but Jason said he was acting like he won the Superbowl.

Celebratory big chair pictures were taken.

Snow Amazing

The snow in Breckenridge is unbelievable for this time of year.

More of the mountain is open for Thanksgiving than was open for Christmas last year!

I was super excited because I was able to ride the T-bar today. I've tried before with no luck.
Look at me, I made it to the top!

Kyle and Reed didn't have much faith in me that I'd make it.

Speaking of Kyle and Reed they have been tearing up the mountain like crazy people.  Which means Jason and I do lots of sitting and relaxing between their runs....which is just the way we like to ski.

And I have no pictures of JR because he refuses to ski with us or act like he knows us.

What We've Been Doing

I haven't been blogging because we have been very busy in Breckenridge.

Reed has been busy eating fried Twinkies for dinner (because that's what you get to order when you eat dinner with Maw-Maw and Paw-Paw).

Granny Sherry and I have been busy running away from the foxes when we walk the dogs.

Chloe has been busy on fox lookout from the comfort of the couch.

And Caroline stayed busy with Scott and Debbie's, dog, Penny.

I Know Them

I got a notice that somebody posted on the Mustang Moms of 2022 board.  Thinking it was something important that JR probably hadn't told me about, I went to see what it was.

I was definitely surprised to see another one of my kids staring back at me.

Certainly the cutest advertisement I've seen in awhile!

Spoiled Babies

I'm not sure who's winning the spoiled baby contest between these two dogs.

Chloe went along for a Bahama Bucks run the other day and when they saw her in the car they gave her her own doggie snowball.

Later I was walking through the living room and saw Granny Sherry's Daisy like this.

Saturday B-Ball

We missed Reed's first 2 games, but we were able to see his last basketball game of the evening.
Reed was on fire (as usual) and even made a basket.

It was a crazy game with lots of tall kids, and I even saw Reed squeeze under one of their arms at one point.   (If you can't beat 'em up high, I guess go down low.)

Reed's team wound up loosing by 2, but their coach said it was one of the most fun games he's ever been a part of.

Since it was late, Granny Sherry had already headed for home when we took a picture.

Region Choir-The Concert

JR had his Region Choir concert on Saturday evening.

He spent Friday night until 10:00 and then all day Saturday rehearsing.  We were so impressed!  They sounded amazing.  He said they had worked their voices too hard and that he thought they sounded better earlier in the afternoon.  I told him I didn't think they could have sounded better!

We weren't allowed to video, but I did sneak a picture.

He doesn't get to advance to Area tryouts, but we were just thrilled he made Region Choir as a freshman.

After it was over we did quick family pictures

My cousin, LuAnne, was visting my parents and she even came along...bless her heart.

Maw-Maw and Paw-Paw's took JR to dinner and brought him home while the rest of us raced off to Reed's basketball tournament hoping to catch his last game.

Harnessed Up

I didn't think we were going to have anything to do on Saturday and then it turned out to be a crazy, busy day.

We started with Kyle diving with a harness for the first time.  We usually have to drive a million miles for him to dive, but this was nice and close...right here at the Spring Branch Natatorium (if only he could train there everyday!)

We were all excited when he did a 2 1/2 off the 1 meter.  He even got a round of applause after.

School Pics

Nobody would let me buy any school pictures this year (JR told me "we are too cool to buy them).
I have no idea what JR's even looked like, but at least I got a proof for Kyle and Reed.

They wore the exact same thing as they wore last year, which I think is hysterical...and something only boys would ever do.

Costumes

It stopped raining and storming about 6:00 so the kids had about 2 hours to trick-or-treat until the rains came back.

These 2 looked like this

They parted ways and Reed returned home on a golf cart full of 5th and 6th grade girls, while Kyle came home with 2 or 3 of his friends.
(I think Reed found the better deal).

I told this bunch they weren't allowed to leave without some form of a costume on.

I'm not sure what any of them are, but at least I made them put on something.
