Rodeo

We only made it out to the rodeo 1 time this year.  Everybody I wanted to see was performing during spring break, so that was a big bummer for me.

Kyle was on a rodeo committee this year, so he was there quite a bit for both work and fun.

I was excited that Shelley sent me this picture when she ran into him.

Kyle even let me wear one of his belt buckles (this is the one he won his freshman year) so I was pretty excited to look the part.

Spring Break #3

JR was able to get in 2 different locations for his spring break (I think he's been off more than he's gone to school this semester).

He went to Cabo, where I specifically told him, "You're going to get robbed, kidnapped, and/or murdered and while it's happening, I just want your last thought to be how much you've hurt me."

Thankfully, he made it out alive and had "the most fun he's ever had in his life".

Always the showman...

And speaking of showman, for the last half of his spring break (and into the next week) he worked in Gulf Shores.

Spring Break #2

Jason drew the spring break short straw, so he got to go to The Bahamas with Kyle and 200 of his closest friends.

Jason convinced Scott to come along with him, and as I told them, "I have eyes everywhere" and would get updates.

Speaking of eyes...I'm not too sure Jason saw much of Kyle, but I would get pictures of him from everybody else that ran into him!

And it wouldn't be Kyle if we didn't have pictures of him with animals.

I don't even want to know what all happened on this trip, I'm just glad they all got back in one piece.

Spring Break #1

We had 3 different Spring Breaks this year (all the same week, just 3 different locations) so I guess I'll start with the one I went on.

I went with Reed and his friends to Breckenridge, and I made Yvette come along to help me feed them!  Yvette and I didn't ski, but we got 3 meals on the table and went to the store every day.

Here we are, with some of our handywork.

The weather couldn't have been more perfect.  It snowed a foot the day before we got there, and then we had a surprise 5 inches one night.  Reed said it was some of the best skiing he's ever had!

And they also had fun when they weren't skiing.

Second Official Decision

I am so happy about our second official decision in the family.  I was so worried we were going to lose him to Montana, which is soooo far away from Houston.  (And you have to take 2 flights to get there!) I absolutely loved Charleston when we were there, but I knew I couldn't act too excited about it (and you know how hard it is for me to not show excitement).

The campus is great, Charleston is great, the students are great looking...what more could you want?!

And most importantly for Kyle, all the fishing is right there....which is all he's ever wanted to do.

First Official Decision

I'm back!

I've been busy, but I'm not sure doing what. Clearly not blogging.

If you'd ask me 6 months ago where Reed was going to go for college, A&M wouldn't have cracked my top 5.  Honestly, I wouldn't have picked A&M a week ago.  But this kid has talked to more people, done more research, and weighed every negative and positive that exists.

And on Monday he said, "I'm 100 percent confident that this is where I'm supposed to be".  So, Reed will be majoring in Business Honors as part of the class of 2030.  I feel great about his decision, and I'm so glad he's happy.
