Easy Question

Reed texted me this picture the other night and asked me if I could pick which cookies he made and which cookies Kyle made.

Um, yeah.  I can tell.

Location Change

After being locked up for 38 days, they've had a location change.

As you can see, they're much happier.

Working Out

The only "excitement" of my day is getting to workout over zoom and seeing my gym friends.

Kyle and Reed think one of my instructors is cool because she has a British accent, so when she texted me that she was going to teach a workout class for kids they said to sign them up.

They time-lapsed themselves doing it and said that the "ab workout was hard".

Yeah, I know all about hard ab workouts...I also know that if you position the computer just right the teacher can't see you lying in the floor not doing them!

Exciting Stuff #5

Kyle and Reed went on a 24 mile (yes, 24 miles) bike ride with our next door neighbors.

I think it's the first time in their lives they came home completely worn out.

Obviously we don't have any mountains in Houston.  We hardly have any hills, so this is about as close to mountain biking as you can get in a city that sits 50 feet about sea level.

Really Over Us

Not only has Chloe been putting herself to bed early, now she's refusing to go on her evening walks.

I just can't imagine what's making her so tired.

Homeschooling Week 3 and 4 and Forever

I was so excited to watch our governor's press conference yesterday, as I was sure he was going to open Texas.

Not only did he not open anything, but he cancelled school for the rest of the year.  I was furious, disappointed and so sad.

So here's what the kids look like homeschooling this week, which I guess we will now be doing forever since we have apparently been put under house arrest for the rest of our lives.

This must have been a zoom call with a class for JR since it's day time...and he's wearing a shirt.

I had to make toilet paper roll puppets this week.

Kyle needed one for theater class and Reed needed one for art class.  You can tell that my feelings about homeschooling and house arrest are directly proportional to the quality of my puppets.

Exciting Stuff #4

I've been under house arrest for 31 days (not that I'm counting).

We have now been reduced to doing bicycle tricks for entertainment.

Reed

Kyle
(Normally I would be screaming at Kyle to stop before he hurts himself and can't dive, but since he can't dive anyway, who cares?)

And, as they called it, "synchronized".

And no, they don't have helmets on.  And no, I don't care.

Possum Return

We were social distancing in the back yard the other night with Jason's friend, Jay.

I even have proof how far away we were in case anybody wants to turn me in.  JR had to move in closer than where he was just to take this picture.

About 9:00 our possum showed up.  And Jay thought it would be a good idea to grab its tail.

I'm warning you now to turn the volume down or watch it on mute because the video is literally me shrieking and squealing.

And then Jay took a close up picture of it.

Not surprisingly, the possum had no interest hanging around with us any longer and moved on down the fence line to the next house.

Easter 2020

I haven't been to the grocery store in about 2 weeks, so the Easter Bunny had to fill baskets with what was in the pantry.  Luckily the Easter baskets were in the pantry, because plastic eggs were not...which means I just made a construction paper egg in to an envelope to put cash in.

Here is our Easter picture this year. We watched 2nd Baptist on the TV (it was live).

And then Jason did surf and turf for dinner.  It was as good as a restaurant.

It was sad watching church on TV, it was sad not being with our family, the whole thing is just sad.

She's Worn Out

Poor Chloe.

I thought she would love us all quarantining with her, but I think she is ready for us to get back to normal.

She is used to being alone (or just with me) where she can do her napping undisturbed.  Having everyone around all the time has severely cut in to her rest time.

She's also not used to averaging 4 walks a day.  Which really wears her out.

She's so tired she's started putting herself to bed about 8:30!

Exciting Stuff #3

One of the moms in the neighborhood scheduled the snow cone truck to come yesterday.
We looked forward to it all day, and you'd have thought we'd never even seen a snow cone we were so excited.

And yes, not only does Reed not wear shirts anymore, but he's given up shoes too.

Kyle got tiger blood, Reed got dreamsicle, I got red velvet, and I have no idea what flavor JR got because he didn't go with us.

Winners and Loosers

Kyle and Reed thought they could beat me at jump roping.
Obviously they could not.  I smoked them both.

Then Kyle and Reed both smoked me at run down the street and touch the stop sign and run back. Reed beat us both so he was the official winner.
(Chloe would have beat us all, but she can't be trusted to run without a leash.)

Then Kyle won the ripstick half way down the street and come back contest.  I did not participate as I didn't want to go to the hospital with a broken arm.

And all that entertained us for about 30 minutes.

Homeschool Week #2

This week was pretty much exactly the same as last week.
And I still don't have any pictures of JR because he's asleep.

A Yogi I'm Not

Name a fitness craze and I've done it.  Not surprisingly, I'd rather do workouts that involve some kind of jumping around.  I absolutely despise pilates, but coming in a close second on the bottom of my list in yoga.

I've tried it a few times, and I can never turn my brain off.  All I can think of is all the million other things I could be doing beside standing there in Warrior 2.

But since there is nothing (not one thing) to do, I decided I'd do a zoom yoga class with Kyle. Yoga is great for Kyle's diving, and it was something we could do together.

I was actually enjoying this yoga class more than any I've ever taken.  I was thinking about how I could actually do the poses, and that I was doing pretty good.  And then I looked over at Kyle.

Note to self:  Don't ever think you're "looking pretty good" when doing yoga next to a diver.

Exciting Stuff 2

I'm getting complaints that I haven't been blogging enough.  Obviously there's nothing to blog about, but since there is literally nothing going on in the entire world I'll share our "exciting stuff" just so it'll give you something to read for a few minutes.

So who knows the difference between an opossum and a possum?  (I'm gonna guess my dad.)  Well, for the rest of us, A possum is native to Australia and an opossum is native to the Americas.

So yes, We technically had an "opossum" in our yard the other night, but I'm from Texas so I'm going to refer to it as a possum, since that's what we call them.

Chloe went crazy barking at it so we had to go outside and get her to bring her in.

I'm always scared possums are going to go flying off the fence and land on my face and start attacking me.
To which Jason replies, "It's a possum, it's going to play possum."

Whatever. I still think it looks like a giant flying attack rat.

Puzzle 2

There are no more puzzles to be found on the planet.  I think our down the street neighbors are going to bring us one of their old ones (hopefully).  We only got our hands on this puzzle because we traded the last one we finished for this one with another friend.

Jason and I finished this one in record time.  We call Kyle and Reed "The Swoopers" since they swoop in and put the last 15 minutes worth of pieces in.

So I made them take a picture of Jason and me since we were the ones that really put it together.

And a picture with Chloe, of course.

The Swoopers with my puzzle.
