The marathon of homecoming is halfway through. We made it through last night and now the nosegays I made are sitting in the fridge resting up for tonight.
I'm sitting on the couch resting up for tonight too.

Well, it had nothing to do with homecoming, but we got dressed up last night for a charity event like we were going to homecoming.
It's homecoming week, which really doesn't mean that much except that I'm finished with my mums and this weekend will be busy.
I didn't do my mum business this year, and just did 2 for friends and then Kyle's date's mom asked me to do his. So these are those mums (and Kyle's garter)
And then here are the ones Kyle and Reed will give their dates.
Kyle has ag 1st period which isn't at his high school, but at another campus. Jason usually takes him in the mornings and lets him drive. Jason's been out of town, so Chloe and I have been the ones in the passenger seat. I have to remind myself that Kyle is literally learning to drive in the middle of Houston in rush hour traffic.
I definitely need to take a relaxing lesson from Chloe.
If you know me you know I get on a kick of a certain thing (before I move on to something else). So for some reason I decided that my latest kick would be making Christmas ornaments.
I've finished 2 and have more in the works (because I have to multi-task and can't finish one before I go to the next one).
Now before I show you, remember I'm not a perfectionist (understatement of the year) and more of a....don't look too closely and it'll look fine kind of gal.
I also didn't have any patterns (not that I would know how to use one if I did) so this is just me cutting up felt and trying to cover up mistakes with sequins.
I made Kyle and Elvis ornament (I had a pink pig all cut out when Reed reminded me that Elvis wasn't pink).
And I made Reed a cross country ornament.
So, you'll all probably be getting a homemade Christmas ornament this year, which I'm guessing is a better gift than the year I made everyone I knew a sock monkey.
Reed's had to more races and both were super exciting. Last week his coach moved him up to varsity so we were all a little nervous of where he would finish since he was literally running with the big dogs!
I started videoing as I was cheering for his teammates, and was shocked when I saw his bright yellow cleats coming right in the middle of the pack.
He stayed in the middle of the pack the whole race and finished with a time of 18:23.
Since there's so much "JR stuff" while he's away at school, I try to just do a monthly review. But this one was so "big" he gets an extra.
I guess since most of the city left town to go to New Orleans for the game, they let his band take the stage at one of his favorite hangouts.
As you can see, it looks like he was completely miserable during the entire experience.
I might not be good at taking before and after pictures that match up, but I think we did a great job picking the new paint colors.
I've been meaning to blog all week, but then the days seem to get away from me. We celebrated Grandpa's birthday last week with our traditional lobster dinner.
After Reed's race we made a quick trip down to Galveston for the holiday weekend.
We sat on the beach
Reed ran last weekend in my old homeland.
Unfortunately for us, he called us as we were pulling into the parking lot to tell us he had finished his race.
He finished 37th/156 with a 11:18.
We might have missed his race, but I didn't miss an opportunity to do my Fillie pose in front of the football field where we used to practice.
This week they upped their race milage to a 5k.
Reed turned in a great race medaling in 17th place/119 in a time of 18:28.
