Birthday #2

It was a slow go Friday morning, but the guys went off to a guy's lunch and the girls went off to a girl's lunch.

We went to the pool in the afternoon, and then it was time for the 1st official birthday event, which was an amazing party at Felix's Oyster House.  We had the top floor which opened up to a private balcony on Burbon Street, with plenty of beads to throw.

This is a great view of the balcony

and a good view of the inside.

They even had Jan straws!

Then on Saturday morning, Jason had a bus arranged to take everyone to the World War 2 Museum.  He had 2 tour guides lined up for us, and it was really something else.

I was super impressed with how big it was.  It's a must see for sure.

After the museum in was time for lunch and a photo op in Jackson Square before getting ready for Saturday night, which definitely gets its own post!

Birthday #1

I'm not usually at a loss for words, but I've had to sit and think about how to even begin to start talking about what an amazing job Jason did celebrating my big birthday.  I decided I'd have to break it up into pieces, and just start at the beginning.  I had 40 people come down to New Orleans to celebrate with me, which just blows me away.

The party officially started Friday evening, but we went down on Thursday, as did some other friends.  So on Thursday we started at Pat O'Briens (as you have to).

After dinner we headed over to Tropical Isle for shark attacks.

And then my favorite Razoo's where you know I ended up on the stage, since I've never met a stage I didn't love.

23

Jason and I celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversary on Sunday.  We actually didn't do too much celebrating on Sunday since the whole weekend had been a celebration.  I still need to write about my birthday, but it was so much I'm still trying to even figure out where to begin!

Happy 23 to us!

That's Some Mud

I had a big birthday party in New Orleans this weekend, so it feels like we've been partying for a week, but that's nothing in comparison to how long Kyle's been working to catch this.

He says he's been trying to catch this one for 2 months.

He came home yesterday covered in this same amount of mud and said he caught a 20-pound catfish.  Today he brought home the photographic evidence of this alligator gar.

Flag Day and Father's Day

We've been busy celebrating Flag Day and Father's Day since we've been home.  The jet lag was nothing compared to what we used to experience coming home from China, so it was a smooth transition back into the swing of things.

Flag Day was celebrated with lots of flowers and such.

And we celebrated Father's Day yesterday, but I took these pictures while we were waiting on Grandpa Gary to get there, and then I forgot to get pictures of him.  So even though he's not pictured, Grandpa was there too.

Back Home

We made it back home, and as I suspected, we weren't really missed while we were gone.

Reed caught fish.

JR continued to celebrate his birthday.

And Kyle caught these!
