Reed and his JA team won first place this weekend at an entrepreneurship contest at Baylor.
They missed school Friday and headed off to Waco. (Which I'm pretty sure means Reed didn't attend school any Friday in the month of April.)
They had a tour of Baylor, and ate dinner at one of the dining halls, which he said was "excellent".
He said the business school and the campus were very nice.
Then on Saturday they brought home their 1st place finish.
So we ate the fish that Kyle cleaned in the driveway.
Obviously I didn't cook it, but Jason did.
As you could see from the family pictures, JR was not at Easter this year.
Kyle went fishing over the long weekend, and when he came home, I asked him if he caught anything. He told me an 18-inch trout.
I said, "oh, do you have a picture of it?" and he said "even better it's in the driveway."
So I peeked out the backdoor, and sure enough, a fish was being filleting on my driveway.
I immediately went back inside where I called Jason to inform him that I was not enough of a boy mom to handle a fish being cleaned on my driveway.
Kyle then wanted to know if I would cook it for him.
And as we all know, I would have no idea where to even begin...which is what I told him.
So here's the fish, and no, I didn't take pictures of it on my driveway.
The other day after school Reed texted me (from upstairs) that he was going to play in a young life pickleball tournament. Three things struck me as odd about this since: 1. Reed doesn't do anything in the evening but study 2. He's not in young life 3. I can't remember the last time he played pickleball.
But after finding out it was a tournament where they could win money, it made total sense why he was excited to go.
With Kenny being a tennis player, they came out on top (as Reed put it "I just let Kenny dominate") and walked away with the (literal) big check.
We had a very nice Easter yesterday.
We all wore our Easter best.
