They Graduated!

After all the events, we finally made it to graduation.

Reed got to tell everybody the rules.
JR asked if Reed got to make up the rules...which would have been even better!

And they graduated.

And then everybody in the family had their pictures made with them.

End of School Events #6

The boys had their elementary school clap out last week.  Which I think is just a time killer for the elementary kids.  Their elementary school has been torn down and rebuilt, and none of their teachers they had are still there, so I'm not sure it was as nostalgic as it's billed.  But we did it, and here's what we looked like.

End of School Events #5

We had the senior car parade on Saturday, which is my favorite event! It was a beautiful day and the kids (and the parents) all had so much fun.  The parade is in the morning, but it turns into an all day party for everyone.

I knew nobody in Houston would even know what the College of Charleston's colors or mascot are, so I made Kyle and Charlie's truck into a boat.  I was very proud of my handiwork!

For Reed's I mainly did balloons, but I did make a Reville to ride out the window.

Yearbook

The last yearbook came home, and it definitely made me laugh.

I thought Reed's valedictorian quote was super funny.

Kyle made it on the FFA page, and the caption is funny (though it didn't mean to be)

He didn't even raise a lamb this year, and he's holding....a goat!

The theme was "meant to be" and Reed had a meant to be quote.

(I'm sure MawMaw was happy since this is her favorite movie.)

And Reed had a nice spread on the cross country page.

End of School Events #4

Kyle had his last FFA banquet last week.

To be fair, we have only been to one other FFA banquet where we thought Kyle was going to get his greenhand degree (his freshman year), but he didn't fill out the paperwork to the teacher's liking, so he didn't get it.  (Which of course we didn't know when we showed up at the banquet) We just so happened to be sitting next to a mom whose son also hadn't filled out the paperwork properly, and we bonded over having to go to a banquet to watch our kids get nothing.

The other kid became one of Kyle's best friends, and when they announced that they were going to give out the 4-year membership award we all laughed that they had probably found a reason not to give it to Kyle and Garrett.

But here they are.  They finally got honored at a banquet.

They had a slide show for all the seniors, and as they called their names they went and hung up their jackets.  I did a terrible job videoing because it went so fast.

Here are the 2 "little kid" pictures I turned in for him that were in the slide show since they are hard to see in the video.

Kyle had a great 4 years.  He learned so much and made a ton of friends.

He Graduated!

JR graduated on Saturday from Ole Miss!

We definitely found the perfect spot for pictures.

It was a beautiful day in Oxford

We had such a fun day with him, and we are very proud.

He's official!

This is my favorite.
JR and his freshman year roommate (they are still friends) on the day JR moved in and at graduation!
