Taking One for the Team

How do you make kids who live in a teeny-tiny town super happy?

Take 'em to Chuck E Cheese.

Sure I'd rather go pretty much any place else, but for kids who never get to go, it's pretty exciting stuff.

It's usually my parents who take one for the team and go to The Cheese. So much so that Kyle turned to me as we were walking in and said, 'Are Maw-Maw and Paw-Paw already in there?'

And what did the kids 'win' with their Cheese tickets?
It was vampire teeth for everybody.

Hard Rock

Am I really blogging from dinner at 5:30?
You bet I am.

The kids and I tagged along on Jason's business trip to Denver, and since he's working, we're keeping ourselves busy not working.

But since I'm not a total glutton for punishment, we're out for an early dinner (hopefully a set up for an early bedtime) at the loudest place around.

Hard Rock Cafe
(as you can tell from the flag in the mountain of nachos.)

And if Kyle feels the need to get up and dance, as he's doing now, perfectly acceptable.

Very Important Stuff Around Here

Things that rank high in importance at the Ingersoll house, might not rank so high in other homes.
But around here, a BB gun target that looks like this gets as much praise as an all A report card!

Fashion Fabulous Friday (On Saturday)

Okay, so I didn't post FFF yesterday since:
A. Being that it's summer I totally forgot it was Friday.
and
B. With my computer on its last legs, my babies racing tricycles trumps fashion.

So without further ado (cause it's really not that exciting) I present:

Extreme Doggie Makeover

Hunter Before
He actually had strawberry Poptart stuck on the top of his ear which made him look like he was bleeding for about 6 weeks.

Hunter After
A Bichon fit for a celebutante...or semi-famous reality star.
(Except that he's too big to ever fit inside anybody's purse.)

Little Iron Horses Year 2

Sooo, Here's the sitch on my computer.
Long story short, they can't fix it.
I can sort-of blog, but my email doesn't work.
I figure I better get this post out into blogland before my computer decides it doesn't feel like doing that either.

I pretty much complain about the bicyclers on the roads of Durango nonstop.
If they wouldn't break the law, (i.e. riding side by side so I have to risk my life pulling into oncoming traffic to avoid hitting them) I wouldn't roll my eyes and complain so much.
Kyle is so used to them he rolls down the window and screams 'Excuuuuuse Meeeeee!' whenever we see some. (Which is about every 2 seconds.)

But if the bicycle community wants to let my babies race down Main Street and give them medals, well, I can probably stop complaining about them for a day or so.

This was Kyle and Reed's second year to compete in the Sprite Kid's Iron Horse Race and they knew exactly what to expect.
Just look at those pre-race game faces!

Reed left nothing to chance.
He was sure to inspect his "vintage" tires before the race.

And yes, Reed's "vintage" tricycle (as the announcer called it) was mine when I was his age.

Kyle chose JR's old (but certainly not vintage) Go, Diego, Go trike for his race day.

And just in case you were wondering, MY tricycle beat Go, Diego, Go!

The medals were exciting...

but not as awesome as winning a free Sprite.

Post race photo-op with friends.

Pretty Cool

I may not have a working computer, but I do have a picture of JR with two Olympic athletes, Tracy and Lanny Barnes, who are ranked number 1 and 2 on the US Biathlon Team.
They competed in both the 2006 and 2010 Olympics, and came out to talk to the boys at Cub Scout camp today.
The girls brought their rifles they use in competition, and there was a collective gasp of 'awesome!' and 'cool!' heard round the room as 150 boys' eyes lit up at the sight of the guns.
Pretty cool!

Gotta Chill

My computer is in the shop.
Agh!
Which means the only blogging I can do is from my phone.
Agh!
Guess I need to take a lesson from Kyle and just relax.
