Have I mentioned I love Denver?

I've lived here a week and last night I had a Girl's Night Out! 

Cassidy introduced me to her Denver friends when we were here in June, and they were sweet enough to invite me along to their evening of Canvas and Cocktails!

I, of course, thought wearing my beret would at least make me look the part.

2 1/2 hours later we left with our works of art!

Our painting is called "Lover's Lane" and should look like this:

I was feeling pretty decent about my "masterpiece" when they told us this is one of the hardest paintings they teach....until I saw my friend, Caroline's, painting she did in Dallas.

It looks waaayyyy harder than mine!

(Especially since I learned last night that painting straight lines is not my forte.)

A Whole Buncha Cute

Granny Sherry is here to visit us and she brought along the newest addition to her household.

Meet Miss Daisy Mae a 3 month old, 3 pound Yorkie Poo .

Needless to say, the boys are loving having a puppy in the house!

And if you're wondering about her name, Granny Sherry let the boys put in their suggestions.

Kyle was insistent on Hello Kitty.

Reed wanted Miss Girl.

And JR came up with about 30 names (mostly characters from the books he loves) with one of them being Daisy.

Granny tried her best to appease Kyle and get "Kitty" in the name, but Miss Daisy Mae seems the perfect name for her!

First Day Again

Kyle and Reed had their first day of preschool today.

They were both excited to go, and Reed told me he'd be fine as long as they had circle time like his old school.

Their preschool is in the same school JR will go to next year, (JR's "homeschooling" the rest of the year, and will start 3rd grade again in August so he'll be one of the older kids in the class instead of one of the youngest.) and is walking distance from our house.

JR and I walked them over (I had to go buy bike locks because bikes have been demanded to be ridden from now on) and here they are mid walk.

I forget that although JR has lived in both Beijing and Houston, what he remembers most is Durango.

As we neared the school he said, "Mom, look! There's three school buses right there!" 

(In Durango there was one bus that picked up elementary, middle, and high schoolers all together.)

Poor thing, there's probably 30 buses, but I didn't want to blow his mind with that information just yet.

But not to worry, we'll have him accustomed to suburban living in no time.

(Although I was even a little taken aback when I saw their classroom is bigger than their entire Durango preschool.)

Kyle and Reed both had a great day. 

Reed reported it "was awesome", and Kyle said they have "lots of new friends".

Their teacher said they had no problems, and even played separately as the day went on.

Yay, for another first day!

Now That's Entertaniment

I have TV!

I have Internet!

Unfortunately, all I've been doing is unpacking so I have nothing good to write about.

Just give me a day or two and I'll have something blog worthy!

Open

Every box is open!

Of course that doesn't mean everything is put away, but we are done with the boxes.

I'm pretty sure it was all part of Jason's master plan of not scheduling cable and internet until tomorrow.

Guess he won, cause we are officially unpacked!

At Least My Toenails are Fashionable

Our internet doesn't get turned on until Monday, so Fashion Fabulous Friday will have to wait since I'm doing all my blogging from my phone.

So until then, I thought you might 'enjoy' seeing my moving injury.

(You know how I love to milk anything band-aid worthy.)

I hit my little toe while unpacking, and thought it was hurting a bit much (even for someone with my flair for the dramatics).

But as you can see, I broke my toe nail AND there was blood. And blood definitely means it REALLY did hurt!

Lunch with Dub-ya

One of the first things we do when we move to a new location is go in search of a good Chinese restaurant.

When we walked in and saw these two giant pictures on the wall (that's Guiliani on the left and President George W on the right) we had seriously high hopes!

Thankfully the food was great, so that's one more thing checked off the to-do list.
