For the "Love" of the Game

I can't remember to bring my fancy camera to T-ball.
I had it at every soccer game, but T-ball...um, not so much.

I figured I should take some pictures with my phone before I missed the whole season.

Unfortunately, there's not a lot of action at T-ball, so here's what I've got for ya:

Sun in their eyes near a kid with a T-shirt on inside out.

Taking time out of an "exciting" game to pose for me.

A hat dance

JR just as thrilled to cheer on his brothers as he is at their other sporting events.

And the bestest-best part of the evening...
Shakes after the game!

Rainbow Connection

I don't have any funny stories today, just thought this was a really cool rainbow and told the boys to go stand in front of it.
(I hate scenery pictures without people.)

Reed said the sun was too bright (of course) so he wore my sunglasses for the picture.
Which reminds me, I really need to get my hair highlighted.

Camp Was Good

So JR is home from camp.
He loved it.

Loved it as in he didn't want to come home and wants to go for two weeks next year loved it.

But even being away at camp, he can't escape my genes.
His activities for the week?
riflery, archery, and...

arts and crafts (there I am!)

Arts and crafts is where he made the T-shirt he's wearing.

He also became a member of the Dippy Club and earned the dog tag he's showing off.

The Dippy Club sounds so sweet and innocent, but is actually for all the kids who wake up at 6 AM, run around the camp, and jump in the lake.
(The lake which is filled with water that was snow about 3 days before.)
 Not once, but every morning.
Every Morning!
Only about 25% of the campers are insane enough to do it.

Again, so my child...he'll literally go jump in a lake as long as somebody gives him an award for doing it!

Fashion Fabulous Friday

At the Rockies/Astros game Mrs. Debbie taught everybody how to make jewelery from their food.
Earrings out of peanuts to be exact.

I knew this one would jump right in and try it.

And then after Anna did it, of course Reed had to try.

But I never thought I'd see the day this one would be so well accessorized!

Should've Brought My Autograph Book

As "our" summer activities pop up on the blog you might think, "My goodness, how much stuff does Jan have them in?"

Um, as much stuff as I can. Sitting in our house doesn't work for any of us.

Think I'm kidding?
I'd had them home for only 30 minutes the other day and they resorted to a stuffed animal slap fight.  (Kind of like the birthday balloon slap flight, except they slapped each other with stuffed animals.)

So, if it fits in our schedule, we do it.

One of which is swim team.  Which sounds so much more impressive than it is.

It's really just glorified swim lessons 3 days a week. (Which is totally fine.)
I doubt we'll even go to a meet.

Obviously some of the parents aren't as noncompetitive about swimming as we are.

This is the 6 and under group. All I can think: one of these things just doesn't belong.

It's all fun and games til an 8 year old in a Michael Phelps speedo shows up.

Not Such Fancy Pants Afterall

The Littles started tennis lessons this week.
I always think of tennis as a "fancy" sport.

They decided their Duck Dynasty t-shirts were appropriate for such an occasion.
Paired with their Sponge Bob Square Pants tennis rackets, I can't imagine two TV shows that go less with tennis.

I'm just going to pretend it was a planned statement on cultural diversity.
And how awesome we are at it.

Campy Camp

This thing couldn't get away from us fast enough yesterday.
(Just look at my Texan totally duded up in Colorado paraphernalia.  I'd worry he's lost all his Texas roots, but he's still a Republican, so we're good.)

We dropped him off for camp in Colorado Springs.
He didn't get to go to camp last year since, as you'll remember, Colorado Springs was literally on fire most of the summer.
Think I'm exaggerating?  These are from the road into his camp.

We got him all checked in; I fixed his bed (seen here), and he said, "Ok. You can go."

I made him let me take a picture or two, and then seriously, it was time for us to leave.
(He's a Comanche. Do you think they know they spelled it wrong?)

Here's just a snippet of what he'll be doing this week.
If you look closely at the top of the picture you can see the zipline over the lake.
Jason can hardly contain his jealousy.
