Fashion Fabulous Friday

I still don't have a computer, so this will be short and sweet.

JR picked President Ronald Reagan for his research paper.
And though President Reagan wasn't his 1st choice, thankfully, Payton Manning hasn't made enough of a historical contribution to our country to be an approved topic choice.

JR picked to "be the person" for his project.
(Of course he did...you know JR's certainly not going to spend his time making dioramas or posters.)

His costume was our easiest yet since everything he has on came out of his own personal closet.

Oh No

So don't give up on me. My computer (that I've had forever and love and don't want to change) has finally died. I want to cry. I'm not really talented enough to blog on my iPad, so I'll be back as soon as I can figure out how. ;)

Mamas!

Here's wishing a happy day to....

Granny Buffie

And Granny Sherry

And my mama (and their Maw-Maw)

And of course, happy day to me too!

FYI

 FYI:

Reed's baseball team just won their 2nd play off game against an undefeated team.

It was almost as exciting as the boys' teacher coming to see them...and bringing her dog.

Fashion Fabulous Friday

Jason and I went to a Kentucky Derby themed charity event for Child Advocates on Saturday night.
My plan was to buy a new derby style hat, but I couldn't find one I just loved.

So I wound up making my own.
I already had the hat; I just pinned it up on one side.
And then I grabbed some fake flowers from around the house and hot glued them on.

Poor Jason, it's hard to take a picture with a sunflower shoved in your face.

Big Fan

Tuesday was our last regular season baseball game.  I love their little team.  The boys are so sweet and the moms (and dads) are all really nice.  I thought baseball was going to be miserable, but it's been really fun.

Here's their little team.

I just couldn't handle the cheesy, fake background (as seen above) from Reed's individual pictures, so I took some myself.

Mine are way cuter.
Even with the bandages from his stitches.

The boys got 3rd place in their division (Reed's super excited they won trophies) and they made the playoffs.

You pretty much need an engineering degree to understand the playoff bracket, but I did understand it enough to know to show up to our 1st game tonight.

Granny Sherry and I are treating these playoffs like it's the Astros in the World Series, as you can see by my bloodied finger from ringing a cowbell.
I mean, if I'm not the most obnoxious fan in the stands then I'm pretty much a failure, right?
(And yes, the torn up knuckle was worth it...they got the win.)

Running and Math in one Post

So after the big Talent Show Friday night, Kyle and I were up bright and early to run a 5K to support art programs in our school district.  And yes, I find it totally ironic that it was Kyle that ran and not the two kids I have that love art and dramatic art.

JR just stayed home, and Reed had a baseball game later that morning.
Here he is having a little celebratory lunch after the game.
(On a side note, these two are in the same class at school.  Reed's poor teacher.  She's forever calling them each others names, and I even have trouble telling them apart on the baseball field!)

Here's our 5K selfie (obviously white visors are cool).

And Kyle's post race bottle of water.

Now, I'm going to be real honest with you, I haven't run since I did the marathon. I ran 3 miles about 2 weeks after it, and then I've never run again.
I just haven't felt like running. (I sound like the opposite of Forrest Gump.)

So with this 5K under my belt, I've now run exactly 6.1 miles since January 19th.
(It's pretty sad when the math is that easy.)

We didn't do the competitive race so we don't have an official time, but I timed us, and we did it in 40 minutes...which I think is decent for little 7 year old legs that have trained about as much as I have...which is none.
