I'm In Trouble Now!

Uh-oh, both babies made huge steps in becoming mobile yesterday! My mom asked me this morning, "What are you going to do when one goes one way and one goes the other?" I said, "I don't know, JR never really crawled, he just sat there...I've never had a crawling baby before...much less two!" We knew Reed would be crawling any day, and yesterday he was able to get all the way up on his knees. Today he's learned to crawl a tiny bit, then fall down on his face. I'm guessing by the end of the week I'll be chasing him all over the house! Kyle also took off moving yesterday. We were at Granny Sherry's house and found the Tijuana Taxi. The Tijuana Taxi you ask? Oh yes, my parents bought it for JR right before he started walking, and for some unknown reason, my dad named it the Tijuana Taxi. And, yes, I know baby walkers are bad for their legs, and dangerous, and awful, and blah, blah, blah, but if CPS shows up at my house I'll just have to play the race card and tell them that we're Chinese...at heart. We laugh in the face of safety! Chinese have no OSHA, no guardrails, no safety harnesses....We love the Tijuana Taxi! And so does Kyle. He took off running the second we put him in it. And here he goes....

The Olympics According to JR

JR has been watching the Olympics from his homeland and is quite impressed. Here's what he has to say, "I'm going to be on the very tall diving board and I'm going to do a roll in the air. My mommy is going to watch me on TV and it's going to be so awesome. And I'm going to do gymnastics. I'm going to do the bar, and all of them are easy, but some are very hard. I'm going to do the rings, and I'm going to slip out and do a roll and be at the bottom. I'm going to swim and it's going to be a race. It's going to be kind of tricky. When they say JR, you'll see me on TV and I'm going to win. I'm going to win a medal or a trophy, I don't know which I'm going to win. When I'm 100 I can be in the Olympics because they are all adults."

Fiesta Texas Slideshow

Fiesta Fabulous

Our trip to San Antonio also included a day at Fiesta Texas. Eventhough we went on the hottest day of the year, it was a great day (no lines, I guess everybody was at the water park) and the babies were perfect.

Here's JR's version of the day:
There was this big roller coaster and it was called The Mind (That would be The Road Runner Express, you're supposed to feel like your in a coal mine...so JR calls it The Mind.) and it had Road Runner in it. It went everywhere and it went sideways and it was wild. We rode the Taz ride. It's like a swingy thing. And we rode Scooby Doo. You shoot the skeletons with a gun and it is just pretend. You ride in the Mystery Machine just like the one on TV! And when you shoot the bed with Scooby Doo, Scobby Doo pops up sitting and a skeleton pops up too and it has pink hair. We rode Bugs Bunny and it was a raft ride. You ride in a log and you shoot down so fast! The Dragon squirts water out of his mouth. We rode the Daffy Duck ride and it goes around like a circle. We rode the roller coaster that spins around (Tony Hawk's Big Spin)and it was so wild and Mommy rode it with me. I met Robin and Flash Gordin! I loved it very much, I infinity loved it.

Baby Talk: Hill Country Hyatt

Kyle: Guess what? We just got back from a little mini vacay to San Antonio.
Reed: It was great! We stayed at the Hill Country Hyatt Resort and had so much fun!
K: We met Mommy and Daddy's friends, Mr. Jay and Ms. Sheryl, and their kids, Allison, Abby, and Lance there.
R: Yeah, there was always some kind of activity for us to look at!
K: JR loved their Ramblin River tube ride the best....of course he liked to go on it with and without a tube.

R: We played in the pool and went on the tube ride too.
K: Yeah, but we didn't get to use the big tubes, Mommy and Daddy brought special floaties to push us around in.
R: We don't have a picture of us in our floaties, but look how cute we look in our sun hats.
K: Daddy thought Mommy was just trying to dress us up, but they really did keep the sun off our bald heads.


R: I did other things besides swim. See, here I am chewing on my toes, and then having lunch with Mommy.
K: And JR drove us all crazy wanting everybody to play "ping-ball" with him.
R: What do you expect, he thinks he's Chinese, and that is their national sport!


K: They had other fun things for us to do too. Here's JR watching the movie on the lawn...wouldn't you know it, it was one of his favorites...Toy Story 2

R: And we made S'mores...Mommy's still upset that somehow JR and Daddy got S'mores and she missed out.

K: I wish we could eat S'mores, those looked yummmy

R: One of the days Mommy and Daddy went to the spa. Kyle and I had a nice babysitter and JR went to Kid's Camp.

K: He said he had so much fun. Mommy was a little worried about how JR would handle the face painting, but look, he got his arm painted instead....and loved it!

R: We wrapped up our stay with a birthday party for Allison (who turned 7) and Lance (who turned 3).

K: We were at the party, but we're not in the picture because we were too busy trying to chew on the wrapping paper and the presents!
