F Words

We've been at Maw-Maw and Paw-Paw's and it seems like F words were the theme.

Fishing with Freddie.

There was also four-wheeling with Freddie.

And my dad was super excited to show off his flowering pots.

I guess this post would be perfect, if only I'd posted it on Friday.

Eleven

JR celebrated his birthday while we were in Denver.
He turned 11.

He was super happy he got to celebrate in Denver with his friends he loves so much.

He started out the day going to the 4th grade picnic.

Then he had lunch with his director from his old theater, Miss Anna.
(We got to tell her how much we love and miss her!)

After school, it was time for his "party".
He took his friends to eat pizza and ice cream.

There was a table of big kids.

And a table of little kids
(Kyle and Reed's friend, Liam, and Sophie's sister, Jacqui).

The whole bunch with their ice cream.

Then JR spent the night at Sophie's house where he requested "warm cookies and ice cream" in lieu of cake.

I'm not sure how much longer spending the night at a girl's house is going to be okay.
But it's still okay at 11!

Plenty of the Dog

While we were in Denver we stayed in our old neighborhood with our friends, The Stengers.
You can see the back of our house from their driveway...which was convientent for me to yell greetings to them when we lived there.

We drove by our old house a few times, and it didn't look as happy as when we were living in it.
(I'm sure it misses us too.)

I didn't get any pictures of the families together, but I did come home with a selection of pic of my kids "loving" on smiliey dog, Zoe.

So It's Like This Then

We got home from Denver late Friday night.

Since then we've had 3 days of summer vacation:

Saturday.

Sunday.

Today.

I guess it's safe to say swimming will be on the agenda this summer.

It's June

I see by the date on the calendar that it is indeed June.
We've been in Denver visiting our friends and old neighbors for the past week, and my head still seems to be stuck there.

So since my brain isn't wanting to spit out blog posts, how 'bout a picture of Kyle eating Dairy Queen instead?

Memorial Day Vacation

I'll be extending my 3 day weekend for the rest of the month.
I'll be back in June with plenty of things to blog about!

The Best Day of School is The Last Day of School

I'm not usually a fan of the last day of school (since it puts me on "full time"), but with all the homework these kids have (I find kindergarten homework ridiculous!) I'm just as excited as they are about the last day of school.

I don't have them together for a picture since JR's last day was yesterday and Kyle and Reed's was today.
First day on the far left (I miss our Broomfield house!) and then last day pics.

As for end of the year honors:
Reed received the "good sport" award, and Kyle received the "cheerful heart" award.
JR said he and one other boy were the only ones to not get any awards in the 4th grade.

Woo-hoo for no spelling tests, history tests, flash card tests, bible verse tests, science tests, vocabulary tests, (I'm not mentioning all the home reading since I don't really mind doing that with them) but I'm especially happy there will be no projects!

Here's to my new 5th and 1st graders.
