Ewwwww!

While having driveway happy hour, (the kids go crazy with riding toys/Cassidy and I sit and chat) the boys were thrilled to find some kind of ugly, wiggly, slimy creature in the dirt.

Cassidy, being a total stud, was able to get the slime ball onto the driveway for further inspection.

Knox kept calling it a "snake", and if I didn't have photo documentation and an audience of 6 to discount that fact, I, too, would be calling it a 'snake' in the retelling of this story.

I guess we just don't have these wormy looking things in Texas because Cassidy and I were both at a loss. We even made Mr. Larry across the street come and look.

His conclusion?
California has a bunch of snails, but not slugs.  He hadn't really seen one of these before either.

But after further reflection, I've decided these past few years of Kiddie TV has been quite helpful.  This thing looks exactly like Can't Sit Up Slug from Max and Ruby (except it's not yellow).
Thanks Max and Ruby. Who knew you'd be more helpful with an animal question than Diego?

And you can be sure those are not my hands anywhere near that thing.

Of course the boys thought the slug was amazing, so he needed to be removed to a secure and secret location so that he wasn't "chopped in two" as JR suggested, or "loved to death" by the 5 and under crowd.

It does look like a slug! Like the ones Ron Weasley was puking up in one of the Harry Potter Films. Thank goodness we have TV to teach us things!

Now that is UGLY...I wonder what secure and secret location he is going to hide out in when the cold winds blow and the snow piles high (like in about a month or so).

John said if you put salt on that slug, it will turn to water. MR
